I feel as if Bludworth is death himself. The reason he gives hints for the victims is to make the chase more interesting. He's probably dealt with a bunch of people who had visions and such for decades (Maybe even centuries if he's a demi god being) and having to watch them do their own thing wasn't enough. Every time a visionary would ask about what was going on, and how to prevent it, he provides a different answer each time. The first; skipping by intervening, the second; new life, fifth; take someone else's life, etc. For him, its probably boring to see and say the same thing over and over again, so he had to come up with new diversions for future visionaries and victims. He'd want to give them false hope of saving their lives. He's literally playing cat and mouse with each victim. Watching how each being will react to his advice, and them slowly growing paranoid to the point of madness. When he says "death doesn't like to be cheated" he gives the most agonizing and suffering deaths imaginable as punishment, instead of dying instantly in the first place.

With that kid still being alive with being saved by the one who is sliced by the barbed wire, the chain wasn't affected when Kimberly killed herself and was brought back. 5:35 Based on the theory that he is Death, it's been implied that the premonitions were also part of Death's design and that Death has been playing them like a fiddle so that they would go to places and events where they were truly supposed to die. If you notice, each piece of advice seems to backfire in some way. For example killing someone to get you off the list. What if that person was destined to die sooner than you thought they would. Case in point when Nathan killed Roy. They later discovered that he would have died of a brain aneurysm. Meaning his life span was too short and it caught up to Nathan. Then you have the FBI guy that Peter kills. Law enforcement is always high risk. Meaning if Peter didn't kill him, someone or something else would have. Hence why he died just as fast when Sam killed him.
@goddessofthots50964 жыл бұрын
my guess is he was a "survivor" himself and his "event" might have been a spark that caused so many of the others ( at least in the sequel universe ) my secondary guess is he's secretly some form of god and is the one who gives the "visions" to cheat death

Otherwise, obviously, 1 Second after the Vision of someone, it would all too late for Deaths Design. I mean, Oxygen and everything and Coca Cola, its all used up by Humans being alive. But Death does not care about such damage. He gives a shit how much Coca Cola those Survivors consume that would otherwise not be consumed. They and their Actions only make a difference when they save or take Lifes. That means that all this does not really 'is' the Butterfly-Effect but has much to do with it. Blood-related but not identical, ya see. Point is, the Freak Accidents will spread like a Global Pandemic. So trying to survive is just the wrong plan from the very beginning. This is, in my opinion, a super underrated theory. Most of the FD movies being based out of New York and the consistent supernatural nature of these profilic accidents could easily be connected via something like the Shining, fitting into Castle Rock canon nicely. Maybe William's ability to tap into the Shining and his constant evasion of death unintentionally causes death to seek out others to replace the life William continues to have despite his death. This might actually explain why death predominantly targets teenagers and those close to them. Perhaps Williams accident occurred during his latter years of high school, he was sought out by this "spirit of death" but managed to tap into his abilities and evade its machinations. It probably started small and has gradually escalated to the mass devastation we see in the films. Bridge collapses, airplace crashes, highway pile-ups. The stronger Bludworth's presence, the greater the spirit grows and the more potent the premonitions in others. Hence why Final Destination 3 and 4 has weaker and less pre-emptive premonitions, i.e. the subway premonition happening mid-trip or the ambulance premonition happening moments before impact. This would also go a long way in explaining his prevalence in the first and fifth film. Or maybe being a coroner gives him quite a bit of free time and he keeps tabs on the news. Who knows?

Fd5 Theory: the reason sam's vision didn't activate is (without knowing)... The vision powers was passed on into alex..

That sounds reasonable, when the movie was coming to an end it was very interesting how Sam nor Molly didn't look over at Alex sweating or seeing him flinch in his own visual death but then when Alex wakes up and starts freaking out... that is when Sam and Molly kinda start seeing a pattern but not the SAME pattern they had when the bridge crashed, now what I am thinking is that when that bridge accident happened there was no such thing flight 180 until 1 month and 1 YEAR later when Sam and Molly board flight 180. NOW in FD2, there was a HUGE accident on Route 23 right? Now in FD5/FD1 Same and Molly's seat are number 23 and of course, when they take off after Alex has a freak out on the plane, Sam hears that one song on that bus and it was "dust in the wind".

That's an interesting theory. I've always had one of my own though. Death and the Angel of Death are 2 separate entities in this universe. One takes life, the other takes the victims' souls to the afterlife. Both are forced to do this duty by the Fates, God, Norns, etc. Death doesn't question it but the Angel does because he's the one that has to guide souls to the afterlife, hear their stories, etc and wants them to have more time and so finds loop holes for them to buy time. So my theory is that William is the Angel of Death. It would explain how he knows so much, how he always comes to collect the bodies (souls) of Death's victims, and why he is always trying to help the survivors. He also always seems to pop up suddenly when needed.

I think the reason he doesn't appear in final destination 3 and 4 is: 1. The people on death's list don't know about him so they never went to see him and he wasn't the coroner/mortician assigned to clean up the bodies. 2. He doesn't directly go searching for people on death's list to warn them in person on his own (Although he subtlety warns those two guys in final destination 5 during that burial service) 3. He could have decided that he should stay away from the survivors as he knows the advice he tries to give out doesn't work anyway despite the knowledge he has.

New theory: it's all a game. Death gives one person a future vision of their death and lets them survive the first time. The goal is that there needs to be one survivor and death spares them and considers them the winner. William is likely the only known person who went through this and survived Death’s game so he uses William as an extension to explain the rules (even If they’re super vague). So if you think about it Death isn’t taking these people because their time is up. He’s merely testing them to see if there can be another survivor like William.

I think he is Death because every time he appears at the scene of the crime or funeral whatever he always spots the survivors and he’s probably in his head “ok those are my next victims” and then when someone dies he looks at the remaining survivors to see how many there are left

I always loved the theory that Bludworth’s the Personification of Death; that he is explaining the rules which explains why he offers different rules in each movie. It’s his game and he can play it his way. It’s just a bit of fun for him to mess with the survivors’ heads before he takes them. When he warns them, he’s actually speaking in the third person because we know he has a flair for the dramatic and knows certain things; like that he’ll see Alex soon and knows Kimberly’s name without her or Clear mentioning it

Another theory is that he used the technique proposed in the fifth film (trading someone's life) to survive, but chose not to tell Alex or Kimberly because they were young and he did not want them living with the guilt (that perhaps he feels). Maybe he dedicated himself to cleaning up after Death as a sort of penance for his past. I really like your analysis. I've enjoyed all of your Final Destination videos!

Guess 1) He's the human aspect of death. The part that sympathizes with mortals and wants to give them a fighting chance. Guess 2) He's from a third timeline where the Final Destination movies exist and THAT'S how he has all of this knowledge. XD Guess 3) He's an ancient serial killer who cheated death and just keeps killing to essentially become immortal. A morge technician is a great cover for that preternatural lifestyle.

I absolutely love Bludworth as a character! I really feel that for the next Final Destination film (if they decide to continue it in the same universe as the first 5) they need to give us answers of who he really is, if he is death incarnate or what you say being a survivor and still evading death to this day, he is one of the most interesting supporting characters of this franchise!

Bludworth is like the one who takes the souls. He tries to save some people because he’s actually pretty busy since apparently, humans just refuse to die, so he gives clues so they survive or give him time. He also has a deep voice and I like that very much.

For those who didnt understood: Death basically does not care about literally anything but 2 States: Life and Death... I feel like many have not quite understood this.

I played with idea of movie where bludworth was one of main characters. His name would never be said until the end. He and his friends try escape death and he most scared of the group. This time they get help from old "witch" who has escaped deaths design. In the end plot-twist death let's witch to live as it's messenger, to guide people giving up trying to escape the design. Bludworth makes deal with the witch and takes her place as messenger of death.

I believe that the mortician was once a human with a terminal disease who made a sacrificial pact with Death and has now eternal life. As a price he became the Death's game master, whose job is to dare people to cheat death by giving them visions and warnings, so that the grim reaper can use it's creativity and finish them off in an amusingly sadistic manner.

I think there is a feasible explanation for him being death and helping the kids. Assuming he is death, the people escape him because of premonition. This premonition seems like a blessing, but death is inevitable. It always catches up to the entire cast eventually. So, as a bit of fun, death gives them a premonition of his own that allows for additional time alive, but he knows that only for a period of time and that they will inevitably die anyways. It’s basically like death flexing his power. He gives you a handicap that seems to solve all your problems but his victory is so inevitable that there’s nothing you can actually do. When I think of the personification of death I think of a cruel, vengeful, mischievous kind of character that would offer you a deal without telling you that you have no hand to play with.

@elbellebenneth75123 жыл бұрын
What if he is the one giving premonitions but maliciously? He avoided death. Death has a list. He's next. Now death will skip him and go to the next person on the list, but he's the last one on the list. So he expands the list, death skips him, and goes after everyone else. That would explain why he knows so much AND why he constantly gives different information to people. He says he's seen this a lot. It's a cool idea.
