Grabbing one for herself they headed to the dusty room. “Hey this old things still here?” Mari asked as she set the box in the corner. “Uh, yeah mom seems to think if she leaves it long enough I’ll decide I wanna play it or something.” “Yeah that sounds like mom.” Brushing her fingers across the top Mari felt the dust collect on her finger before lifting up the lid and playing a note. “Hey you remember that song we were supposed to play at the recital?” “Mhm” Seeing where this was going Sunny set his box down and walked over to where his instrument of choice was tucked away. “Wanna take a swing at it again for old time sake?” Smiling Sunny opened his case and quickly tuned the child sized violin. “Ready when you are.” After playing the first note they realized that they might never play it right in this life or the next. ‘But in that moment neither cared.’ With each wrong note the pairs heart lightened, the bitterness eating away at what was left of their bond faded away. As they finish the piece, they look at each other and laughed until tears streamed down their cheeks. “God, we are so off!” Mari face contorts to pain, but there’s a hint off amusement in the words. Sunny takes deep breath trying to not to drop his violin, “yeah well, this is what happens when you don’t practice for years and then decide to just go for it.” Mari looked at the old brand of the piano. The word Omori faded and scratched. To the point she could barely read it. “Hey Sunny.” “Hm?” Sunny replied turning from putting away the violin to see his sister staring down. As he turned his whole body towards her, he saw a single tear fall from her cheek. “Missed you.” She said with a smile on her face. “I missed you too.”
