I enjoy the channel, thanks. I'm an old retired tool maker and have built fixtures etc. For John deere, Cat, Case, etc. I can see a potential issue, maybe on your Digger build. The roller pins that will be taking all of the load while in operation will be the aft-lower and the forward-upper, while the aft-lower will have the brunt of the load. Two things I would do. Increased the dia. of the pin and use a hardened pin. At the very least use a hardened pin. One other thing that I think will help you is that the upper-aft roller and the forward-lower roller just holds things in place in transport. If you would turn .25 to .375 inch off the dia. of the rollers allowing extra space between the pinch points would reduce any gauld from raising the digger. Just remember, if that lower-aft pin shears, it will likely bend the hydraulic rams as well.

as a welder on heavy equipment, a big no no is welding around cylinders with the rods extended out without them wrapped with a fire blanket, even teach welding the hot bee bees burn pit marks in the thin chrome on the rods and the rod is f**ked it don't take much, nice to see you put them plats to stop the twisting on a turn as i had pointed out a few videos ago, but we all know this is a very old video, was done months ago,, witch make it history. time long gone. we all know it has been in the dirt long ago

As a 45 year heavy equipment mechanic I absolutely agree. I was cringing watching Arron welding right by the shiny chrome. I was going to make a comment but thought I would look to see if someone else caught it. The only other suggestion I would make would be to possibly cover up the windows and even tarp off the back of the machine. Many times I have seen the grinding sparks glued to the glass and the paint.

I absolutely love the interaction between Mike, aka Mr. Dirt Perfect, and Aaron, aka Man Behind the Scenes! After spending 30+ years working on medium and heavy duty trucks I enjoy watching 2 professionals plying their trade. Mike is awesome at designing and Aaron is one of the best welders I’ve ever watched and I learned from a guy that did production welding at Willamette Iron & Steel in Portland Oregon. He improved on the 4 years of welding I learned in high school.

One concern is at the foot. It'll act like a wedge forcing the toe down deeper adding a bunch of stress to the roller pins, you could help mitigate by adding two angled plates to top of the foot (like you have on the front of the leg) that come to a point at the toe. Might help to break the soil above the foot and moving the stress back towards the ankle taking away some of the leverage. OUTSTANDING BUILD! Super fun to watch. It's obvious to us how much fun you guys are having.
