Mike and Aaron, you both are the few lucky ones in a life time.... True friends are exceptionally hard to come by any more in this world... The way you two cut up, having fun, working together and taking your skills together to make dreams, projects come together... Awesome work on the beast and all the other projects that you both have accomplished... You are both amazingly talented.... Can't wait to see the beast plow some ground.... I am 71 years young and love to push dirt, build houses, paving.... My time has come and gone so to speak, retired, but watching you and Aaron makes me feel alive again.... Keep the video's coming..... We love to watch you guys and Letsdig18.... Several of us watch from Charlotte, NC..... Stay safe and keep your dreams going...

The access hole was a good idea, but It might have worked better to put a single pin extended all the way through both sides. It would save you a lot of trouble extricating the cylinders for future maintenance.

I just saw this comment. I was thinking the same thing.
@krinkofski22762 жыл бұрын
How are they going to get either pin out if any cylinder. They look face to face without any space.
@garymurt91122 жыл бұрын
Little more complicated to get in line so all the holes line up so one pin instead of two. Plus the stress this will be under they will not stay in line and one pin will be a bear to remove in the future, two pins will allow it to flex.
@neilmaccubbin8442 жыл бұрын
Tap a hole in the end of the pins, use threaded rod to pull the pins out. The threaded rod can stay in the pins.

Mike just a thought. If cut up a push broom head. Then attached them to the sides of the mount below the rollers. They could keep dirt from getting in-between the rollers and the shoe. You could also check Grainger. They have something similar and much thinner. God bless

looking fantastic so far! i cant wait to see it operation. however, i have a couple ideas, as if you need more, with the hydraulic cylinders mounting pins. Loose the two pins and replace them with one that goes through both cylinders. for easier maintenance later. last thought, the bottom hydraulic hoses, from the elbows to just below the top ones use hard lines, to further eliminate possible problems with dirt ect. i hope this helps!
@jimwesselman2 жыл бұрын
Think you will see them on Ver. 7.6.4!

Single pin is a pretty good idea, but I would think the pin would have been in the ears when they were welded in else no guarantee they were lined up. I was thinking the ears should go the other way, but it looks like he'll have enough room to knock them to the center and remove. Hard line is a good idea, my other thought is some rubber to close up the gap on that V and act as a scraper/wipe when the plow is raised. I probably wouldn't do it until after some use to see if any dirt/mud builds up in that nook.

Another great video, thanks! Hope this dual cylinder in the front approach works...if it doesn't, I think you can attach a cylinder on each side of the mounting plate, centered between the 4 pins. Then add the cylinder attachment points to the top sides of the boots. This way the cylinders will be pushing along the line of travel. Should also be easy to get to pins and hydraulics. Keep up good work and videos!

Looking very very solid. Some armchair critique from some one who knows absolutely nothing about your work: Will the cylinders vibrate against the sides during operation; is the curve at the bottom is big enough; do you need a replaceable tip on the leading point of the plow. Just thinking with my keyboard.... but the easy way to align the cylinders would be to run a pipe through the tops of the piston clevis and "dangle" (that's a highly technical term) them both from the center of the pipe. Weld the bottom tab of one in place ant then level up the pipe and then weld the other tab.
