Greetings from No. VT - I really like the new cylinder arrangement a lot. The symmetrical push/pull cylinder arrangement is so much better for stabilizing the movement of the chute. You guys are awesome. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

I loved that action of grabbing the "flopped over end" there like you were gonna flip it back by hand (5:30 ish). If you'd have done that with those big tracks and 30" pads, you would be one bad dude. (And you'd have to be, because I'm surprised Mrs. Dirt Perfect didn't come over during that squealing noise in the middle of the night and put a big knot on your head)

Back in the Truck or Track video you were talking about the old timers saying that all the traction came from the outside 3" of the pad......at the 8:25 mark, you can see on the concrete that those guys knew what they were talking about. 🙂

Snowshoes, LOL. Now you need to chrome the drive units and front sprockets and maybe some spinners! It really does change the personality but hopefully with the ripper weight it digs not floats!

I believe the new plow plate needs more tie spots on the bottom side. All the stress i will be on the one small pin in the middle when you're pulling through the dirt. Especially once you chain up to a second dozer. I would look into adding a couple of turnbuckles or something on either side of the bottom of the plate to spread the load.

Looks like what they were saying on the outer few inches of each track being the main bit of traction was true, look at the marks on the floor, the edges of each track left a much more defined mark on the concrete.

like how your reworking the plow and getting it right before you get it in the mud also we used to use a rope on the track then have it go up over the rollers and wrap around the drive sprocket and pull the tracks on. Army tanker LOL

Have you thought about making an eye link to put in the ripper that you can attach a sheave to, and use it to pull your tracks on without fouling on the cab? It might also be useful for other applications on the job.
