Not too far into the game and this has helped me so much! He can be elusive; sometimes takes a few in game hours but he does spawn eventually, you just have to jog around the area for a bit. He spawns anytime during the day. You can make him spawn by killing the rhino looking creature, running a little bit east, and then run in a circle for a bit. He can also spawn around the camps to the south and east, but I don't know yet what the trigger is.

For anyone having difficulty he spawns between 6-8,how to make him show up beat the scorpions first then the rhino then the magi tech soldiers for three waves after this search the area highlighted in the vid,you should hear his squeaky feet.Save your game before you do these steps so you can backtrack. P.S train with ignis and gladiolus if you have them unlocked for extra exp.Then camp at the trailer.

So start chapter 1, get to level 8 or so, put the Nixperience Band on Noctis and then do this fight like 20-30 times. Then take off the Nixperience Band just before you finish chapter 1 and you get the one free stay at the Gauldin Quay double xp hotel.

Wow thanks for that. I was looking for something like that. BTW You can double the EXP by sleeping in the Galdin Kay Hotel. But it'll cost you around 5000 Gil ( EXP Bonus x 2)

Yeah this method is great! It can take a while to build up the exp but all your efforts are doubled. The same hotel also serves food at the bar which boosts your exp gained!

maybe i was just unlucky , been roaming that area for 3 hours and several ingame days without rest, only dogs, scorpion, daemons showed up, i listened reeaaaly carefully, no luck so far, i wont give up though, gonna try it again today at the designated time this video and the commenters provided.

Sorry to hear that mate. You might just be getting unlucky with the spawns. Though I usually just run back and forth between just outside the gas station and the marker in a waving line. Hope you get some better results later.

How does the Happy Camper/Happier Camper work? If I spec them both, is it better for me to camp at campsites? I would imagine it would be more advantageous to you with all of that experience to spend the 300 gil and sleep at the Motel not far into the game, it gives 1.5x exp. Unless of course, the Happier Camper spec makes camping outside better for exp.

The Happy Camper skill only rewards AP for setting up camp while staying in the hotels award EXP multiplier. If you are using this method to purely raise your character level I would imagine staying in a hotel would be faster. Although staying in camp you can choose to make a good meal and get a stat boost and sometimes give certain party members an exp boost for favourite foods.

All you need to do is sleep at the camp or hotel. Then try again the next day between the hours of about 7am to 6pm. Good luck!

+Decembers Yeah mate. It is a 24 hour clock. Sun goes down at 18-19 I think. The enemies get quite hard after this time.

It is easier to wait till Chapter 2 and use two rare coins mixed with blizzard and use them against the imperial warriors after each battle. You can easily reach 30K really fast. Just keep using the rare coins or the debased coins to level up only with the imperial soldiers. I was level 12 by time I got to level 2 and in about 2 hours I was level 34. Then save 10K and go to Quay hotel and double your exp gain. Sell the items you receive from monsters after you defeat them to get money and do hunts

DeAndre Haynes I would recommend saving your rare coins til you have at least 8. you can then get the maximum out of them. The main focus of this guide is to level as soon as possible without waiting til the next chapter.

You can farm rare coins. I have 12 total so far by accident. You can use multiple debased coins to move the multiplier up to 24 since they give the least on their own. It's your choice on whether to use rare coins. It's easier and less time. I needed on 6 to level up to 34 in about an hour. I used to per blizzard since the soldiers are weak to them.

It can be quite hard to find some days. It is quite dependant on time of day I think. I find my most successful hunt times are at around 7 in the morning and about 14-17 at the end of day (this is the number next to the mini map). The best method is to head to the marker I showed on the map first thing in the morning and save your game. Then head out 300-400 meters in a direction and return if you don't see Cactur. Listen out for the squeaking of his run and then you know he is close by. Keep it up! It will be worth the effort!

If you want him to spawn in the rhino area i think you do yes. Otherwise they 'occupy' his spawn point. I usually have more luck getting him to spawn towards the gas station.

I found it can be quite random to a degree. From about 7-9am and about 14-18pm are the hot spots for me. Sometimes it can come down to bad luck I assume also; there may only be a low percentage he will spawn instead of a pack of scorpions or dogs.

LemonEatingKow Around lvl 38 I believe. I almost had him but he kept ganging up on me pretty bad. I only picked normal mode because I like a challenge though. I can't believe I lasted that long tho. :) I tried finding that creature in the video like you said but having a rough time with it sadly. :( I subbed btw. :) I got his bar to half Im amazed I last that long till ran out of potions.

Veren you can change it back to normal after the fight. nobody will ever know ;) Cactuar can be a real pain to find. it is easiest in chapter 1 but can still be found after.

When using the elemancy Make sure when mixing spells you put a very high amount of Fire into the mix. Add as much ice and lightning as you can with out changing the spell to another element. Once the potency of the spell is high enough (100 i think) it will be come Fira!

There's an easier way. just put as much elemental magic as you want and then add 1 or 2 paprika. what you get is a triple spell (works mostly with Thunder)

You can also use other materials to boost your spell casts. Sharp Bone makes it Dualcast as well as Hard Whiskers, Beetle Shells will also turn the spell into 4x Cast!

You can kill him multiple times but it seems his spawn may have a cool down. So I try to hunt him first thing in the morning (7-9 in game) and then again around sundown (16-19 in game)

You don't need to rest, though it does make it faster. It is just a matter of waiting enough time for him to show up again. Stick to those general times and you should do ok. If you are wanting to 'bank' exp and then sleep at a Hotel to increase the amount from 12x to 2x, make sure you don't rest at a camp before you reach your goal.

Aleem Alli if you have talked to the guy in the diner he highlights all the treasure chest in the area. It's about a inch to the left of the cotisse haven campground or right above the treasure chest icon to the left of the campground if you have talked to the guy in the diner. Hopefully this helps
