I still remember when they were showcasing the combat and the dude just passed the controller to the DMC 5 dev while he was 15 levels below the boss and he completely obliterated it, parried almost every single move lmao, the crowd went insane. Legendary moment.

The game combat is complex because it limits your eikon abilities, and there are 8 eikons, so you have to pick and choose carefully, and every ability opens a different playstyle. This is only thing I slightly dislike, I wish they just gave you more. I can't remember how many weapons you could use at same time in DMC but I think it was more than 3, can't remember.

@@Bahamut998 I would say the eikons are closer to styles than weapons. Most of them are even pretty close to certain styles: Ifrit and Phoenix are Swordmaster and Trickster between them, Some parts each of Ramuh and Bahamut are Gunslinger, Titan is Royalguard, and Shiva is Quicksilver. You even have Nero's Devil Breaker in Garuda and - at least thematically, if not in function - Vergil's Yamato in Odin.

this boss was the first boss I died to in the entire game, took me a few more attempts after to beat and I quite literally got absolutely fucked. and this guy does it without getting hit once, bravo

You should play dmc 5. After beating that game using trickster and royal guard, this game will be easy for you. Enemy attacks in this game are more telegraphed, which I like because it makes it easier to have cinematic and stylish battles.

Use limit break mode during stagger for increased dmg on spell casts. Pressing up on the d-pad at the end of combos while torg is selected offers a follow up similar to magic burst.

Ong bal's specialty is mastering the enemies moves and how to react to them, he has pristine knowledge about the fight, tho it looks like he hasn't mastered it yet, no torgal, no limit break, and the stagger windows are not optimal yet. But given time i am sure he'll come back with a more masterdul display, no doubt.

Out of all the enemies in this game the iron giants were my favorite probably because they don't really have many gimmicks to them just a strong enemy that can operate at any range but the majority of his moves can be countered it's just a matter of juggling between close range and long range combat

This also has a parry mechanic that I want to see that used as well. Well maybe if I play the game I'll do it. But it's one of the hardest mechanics in this game to master, but I bet it's no challenge for you.

How to Parry on this game? U need push eikon attack button at the sometimes enemy attack?

got 2 type of parry...1 is using eikon ability during the last second of enemy attack as what Ongbal is showing, another 1 is by attacking at the very last second of enemy attack which is the time frame is so tight and its so hard to do. Ongbal not using it in this video, he should master it soon.

@@irwan86 Parry in the game is not that hard or tight like DMC or Sekiro, as the enemy has a slow anticipation move and very generous timing window. The problem is the particle effects make it harder to see the incoming attack. I use it all the time for my Odin build, and I can pull off 4 out 5 times. Eikon Skill Parry is even easier.

upgrade the ability to increase the window. if you go to the training room arete stone in the hideaway there is an option to show the burst timing and when to press triangle.
