I love how every single one of the dragoon's animations is pulled from 14's kit. The standard sweep he does? Wheeling Thrust. The spear throw from the tower? Piercing Talon. The heavy aerial lance thurst? Nastrond. His jumps are 1:1 Spineshatter Dives. Like I know reusing assets can be shitty but it just makes so much of this fight in particular feel like a next gen XIV.

What I love about this scene is that if you fail the cinematic dodge and get hit, the dragoon instead says "Sorry for cutting in" as his first line. It's such a small detail in already beautiful boss fight that FF14 fans will recognize as the playable dragoon's moveset - but that's what makes it even better. They didn't have to add it - but they did.

I love how no matter how dark and gritty the series gets, we can still have Final Fantasy-ass Final Fantasy moments like that shot of the knight standing on the roof. It looks so cool and I hope this series never outgrows things like that.

You know Dragoon’s have been a part of FF for a long time right? First introduced as a job in 3, Kain in 4, it’s a job in 5, Cid is basically a DRG in 7, Freya in 9, Khimari in 10, job in 11, renamed Uhlan in 12, Aranea in 15, every Tactics game, etc

Though I know dragoon class has been there for a long time. Khimari is more of a lancer and even if he is a dragoon it is not Easter egg to this dragoon.
