The name Clive still works for the Final Fantasy naming convention. Clive means "cliff" much like Terra means "earth", so it relates to some kind of element. The other names relate to weather, much like Cloud, Lightning, Squall etc.

Terra's original name in the Japanese version was just Tina. Its not really unusual for such normal names to be in a final fantasy game.

Fun fact; "Claíomh" is the Irish word for Sword. Clive's name is the English spelled translation of the word, and is said exactly the same. Clive = Sword.
