I was able to catch this on the last day! Right as they were closing the doors! It’s hard to put the feeling into video but it was very cool and with headphones on it felt like you were the only one there! Ask any questions you want! If you come by this video in 2019 or later I might not remember every detail but I’ll still try!

Gaijillionaire Final Fantasy was taken over, just like Star Wars was. Even FF7 in which Hironobu Sakagushi worked on doesn't feel like the other 6 before. It is so easy to grab someone else's work and shit all over it. Then they wonder why sales went down the hill. Maybe because it doesn't feel like the original product felt... Maybe the ones who took over simply doesn't have what it takes to make it as successful. They even replaced Yoshitaka Amano, one of the greatest anime illustrators from Japan with Tetsuya Nomura...

Dude, this was really cool! Loved the room with all of the screens. If only it wasn't dedicated to FFX -- a game I have a love/hate relationship with. Man, this exhibit would've been right up my alley, as I've been a fan ever since the first one on the NES. Some of my fondest gaming memories are of the Final Fantasy series.
@GTV-Japan6 жыл бұрын
For 7, 8 and 9 they had that kind of box thing you stand in but they tried to mix it up for different eras. FFX I really loved so I liked that a lot! I also spent $100 in the gift shop!

What a strange exhibit. They certainly know to get creative with this stuff in Japan. Personally I'm more the boring kind who would be inclined to see an exhibition if I was learning more about the production rather than just recapturing the moments of the games. Not to talk down this experience though. I imagine it was fun to step through.
@GTV-Japan6 жыл бұрын
You mean production of the games? I wish there was more of that but it was mostly game clips on display
@georgehenson24126 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I didn't mean from you. I know you just showed off what was there. I'm saying I would like it better if Squeeny did that.
@GTV-Japan6 жыл бұрын
Yea I think that would be cool. But that seems like something they’d save for an interview or expo or something. And obviously people are paying money to come to see this already.

What's the word for jealousy in Japanese? ;) Final VII remake will be here in mere weeks! Day one, I don't care what I have to do...day one. I have two of every console including the enhanced models for me and my fiancee (no sharing required). This will be one that I buy for pur PRO's (One copy each!).
@GTV-Japan4 жыл бұрын
The word is urayamashii and I’m jealous at how rich you must be to have 2 of everything with games and of course the time to play them. I will be releasing my FF7 video on 4/10 and we’ll, if you’re jealous now.....
@Sinn01004 жыл бұрын
@@GTV-Japan Oh my God no, I'm not rich. This stuff was accumulated over the past 25 some odd years and through connections I have in the industry. I have kept almost every console and game from the time I was a kid until now. When we want something outside of our budget, I sell or trade rare games. For example, we had the money to buy the Xbox One X when it dropped but not enough to buy two (it would have hurt real bad). I had two copies of Suikoden 2 *complete, so I sold one to the owner of the local mom and pop shop for the difference (only duplicates). I let go a copy of Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon 1+2 for a PSPRO. I actually have a sweet deal setup with my guy for one Xbox X and PS5 when they drop. A couple of rare MVS games for the two machines and a game each (only duplicates). I jumped on the retro games craze before most and bought tons of games when they were considered worthless. I was getting copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga for under $50.00. Suikoden 2 cost me $20.00 in 2002! Further, my fiancee and I do not have any kids and we used our college loans to pay off our home (less APR). As for the time to play our games...yes, we are extremely fortunate. She works typically from 12:00 PM until 8:30 PM Monday through Friday. My hours are all over the place but I essentially make my own schedule. I never work in the mornings which has enabled me to essentially stay up late and play like when I was 16 years old. ;) Essentially all we have to pay for is our electricity, water, internet, and property taxes. If it wasn't for this...we would not be able to afford two of anything.

I do wish Square cared more about the first six games. Those were MY Final Fantasy era. For some reason Japan doesn't love FFVI as much as Americans do.
@GTV-Japan4 жыл бұрын
I agree. The first six are neglected and are kept separate. Ya they’re we’re a few remakes on DS but not much else. I wonder why VI isn’t as appreciated? I think by some fans it is but maybe in 94 is was on sale next to soooo many other games while in the USA it was only one of a few rpgs so I know everyone played it. We were more appreciative overall back then because we were lucky to get anything that’s for sure
@menace96913 жыл бұрын
@@GTV-Japan Late reply, but it is believed that the reason FF6 is more beloved in the west than in Japan is due to the localization efforts of Mr. Ted Woolsey, whom added a ton of content and enriched (or detracted/downgraded, if you're a purist) the story/plot and characters of the game with his "Woolseyisms". For example, it's said that Kefka in the Japanese version was more a "manchild" than the silly nihilist (that many compare to The Joker) we've grown to love, with one notable quote "Hiiiiiiiiiiiii~ SHIT (or Damn it)!" being changed to "Son of a submariner!", and much more. In fact, I'm pretty sure for the Dissidia games, they used the western, Woolsey interpretation of Kefka for his writing and backstory over the Japanese original concept of Kefka.
@GTV-Japan3 жыл бұрын
@@menace9691 yea that’s possible. I’d also factor in that in 94-95 the snes finally hit its peak and the audience was potentially bigger. Still they’re out great 4 and 6
