Aerith is such a beautiful character. she's acting "weird", as Cloud says, bc she knows she only has this little bit of time left and she wants to spend it having fun with him, but he thinks it's just a normal day. you can see how happy she is when he says "next time" because it means he would spend another day on a silly date with her. she thanks him for all he has done to change her life, then says goodbye and prepares herself to be the hero for him and the world, even if it costs her that next time with Cloud. it's so sweet and innocent, in the same way the original game was in these moments. 🎀💚 all my love today to Square Enix for a beautiful story twice.

Guysss this is OG Aerith that’s why he says “this isn’t you”: this isn’t the Aerith that this particular Cloud knows and that’s why he finds she’s acting weird! this is the same Aerith as in Cloud’s resolution scene. That’s why she says “I’m always putting my foot in my mouth, when will I ever learn?” she’s referring to when she told cloud not to fall in love but he does, just like now he has to look up because she told him not to. She didn’t. She admits plainly, even after this scene, that she doesn’t know (can’t find) the real Cloud. What did she say after that? “Even if you think you have, it’s not real.” Because on both sides, it isn’t. Cloud is influenced by Zach’s memories (which he straight up told Cloud about Aerith) and Aerith likes Cloud because he’s like Zach. She, in this game, never meets the real Cloud. We still haven’t either.

​@@moonmoon2479Um have you played the game at all? The only memories that Cloud has that came from Zack is him being a Soldier. Otherwise, Cloud's personality and feelings are not influenced by Zack. If that's the case then Cloud would also care for Zack's parents but he doesn't right? Also, Aerith has feelings for Cloud. Marlene told Zack that Aerith likes Cloud and heck even Zack accepted it. At the Gold Saucer date Aerith stated that Cloud is not Zack and that's okay because she loves Cloud. Zack is Aerith's first love but she moved on from that especially when she sent a lot of letters and have not received a single reply from Zack. In the end, Cloud likes Aerith and Aerith likes Cloud. It's only the circumstances that the two of them are embroiled with that made them a bittersweet couple.

@@moonmoon2479 those are not Zack's memories. In OG, it is revealed that Cloud is there in the incident but as a trooper, so it is still his memories. What he remembers in Nibelheim is still his memories but a bit altered because Cloud wants to create a new persona for himself and used Zack's identity rank as first class soldier. But his memories are still his, he still remembers Tifa but again, a bit altered because it is also revealed while they are childhood friends, they were NEVER actually close. FF7 is about identity. Sephiroth became weird after finding out his identity as "son" of Jenova. Red XIII is hiding his identity so the team won't treat him as a dog. Barret is a hypocrite because his real past identity is a shinra believer (he sold his town) despite saying how much he hates Shinra and so on...

There is always next time. Or you could say, there is no certainty that there WON'T be a next time. Even OG Cloud and Aerith were able to see each other again so even though Aerith tried pushing Cloud away, if there is ANY option of crossing obstacles to find her, he would definitely take it, and Tifa would probably be the first to say "Let's do it!" Tifa and Aerith are so well written that I don't even see a competition anymore for Cloud. Maybe because Tifa thought he was all sown up and beholden to her because they are friends, but if Aerith can be brought back, then Tifa would take it herself. The only time I remember her getting really defensive was in the sewers when she questioned who Aerith was to Cloud. Now they are like blood sisters and it crushed Tifa losing Aerith just like Jessie all over again. Too many people trying to cheapen this so called love triangle. The dynamic between these three transcends any generic "catty" competition between two girls for the same guy.

For anyone wondering what was happening in this scene; Cloud is a no bullshlt type of guy he excels in combat situation but in social situations he sorta comes out short😅He doesn't play games but they always tend to find him. Even Lulu had an interest in him. But I do agree, they were more like Jessie in the sense that there wasn’t much competition. FF7 is really the most ambiguous of the Love Triangles in Final Fantasy as a whole. The devs most likely will never just come out and confirm which side is endgame. Which I’m fine with to be honest. I like the fact that player’s can choose and make their own decisions.

And so what we are left with is Rikku/Lulu riding behind Tidus on a snowmobile, and a conversation with him in Guadosalam. Nothing terribly remarkable there. I think the love triangle thing is lame. I don't care who they pick i just wish they would choose a canon love interest for Cloud. I would be fine with player choice IF they had similar scenes for all the women in the story. So for example if Tidus and Rikku had a optional teary farewell ending in 10 instead of just Tidus and Yuna.

Straight up. The romance scene and this scene solidifies that fact. Cloud and Tifa's scene felt too superficial. He was the cool badass who said a one liner and kissed her as the fireworks went off. Even taking into account Cloud personality at this point in the story, it doesn't flow right at all. But with Aerith he is truly vulnerable and wants to protect her above all else. He speaks to her as if he wants to see the next day and is looking towards the future positively because she would be in it with him, despite the crazy life and death circumstances they are in, rather than only feeling he just has the present with her. He speaks of "next time" and "tomorrow" because his love with Aerith is a married couple type of love.

Aerith found a way a to bring both herself and Cloud’s souls into the other timeline where Zack is alive, albeit temporarily. How else do you explain why our Cloud with his memories of the original timeline, wakes up in the same wheelchair and bedroom where Zack left him in the other timeline? And also, Marlene in the other timeline warns Zack then when Aerith in this timeline wakes up, Sephiroth will try to kill her, which is what he tries to do when he enters the church here. Sephiroth very clearly has the ability to exist in multiple timelines at once, like a bizarre anomaly. But Aerith seems to only be able to have her waking consciousness in one body at a time. Perhaps by her dying for good in the current timeline she ‘wakes up’ for good in Zack’s timeline.

Well Cloud is capable of being in other timelines, worlds whatever you call it, but he doesn't have memories (that's just a theory tho). Like in Morbius if I'm not mistaken Cloud said by himself that he doesn't remember anything except some weird bright light (memories of Aerith) and he decides to create a new timeline where everything can be changed for better.

Now is no longer 1997 the value, the mindset and global environment totally different. people need more positive and faith for good. Multi ending in part 3 would be more appreciated than just let the player day dreaming in the DLC.

This video is non-romanced Aerith. Aerith's answer really depends if you romance her or not - she confirms your relationship if you're only friends or someone with mutual feelings with. I see a lot of people confused with this that's why there's shipping wars lol the translator had a hard time translating the word "Suki" in JP. It literally meant I like you or I love you, hence the translation. Now depending if Aerith is romanced, Cloud's answer when Aerith asks him "Next time?" is different. It may seem small but in context, Cloud says "Yeah, Next time" in JP "Yeah as friends". The official translation was "I mean. Why not?". (this video) If you romanced Aerith, Cloud says in JP dub "Mochiron" which is also hard to translate like "Suki", but in the context it means "I always have time for you. of course." The official translation was "Yeah. Next time." It really depends on the players choices.

Yes, in the prime 1, when he and Aerith met again in the Whrispering forest. Sephiroth told to Cloud, that the Holy materia doesn't belong to this world. Later, after he vanished again. Aerith came out of the tree, and she and Cloud switch both Holy Materias. The prime 1 is empty (meaning she prayed to it somehow), and the other (other world) gave it to Aerith (Prime) and then went off to the Forgotten Capital.
