The man that robbed you, there is a split second where a ! icon appears, that's alleyway jack. If you hit the button quick enough he takes you back to pub and teaches you cards. You miss that, you don't find him again to get another attempt.

I found you through shorts, love your commentary, ff9 is my all time favourite, i wish i could play it again for the first time and experience the joy you are feeling hearing the battle music for the first time and everything else. Its truly magical and i am so glad i get to see this again through you after 25 years😭😭😭😭❤️

It is my strongly held belief that the FF9 Moogles are the best and cutest cause they have a sort of dry sassiness to their design. I can’t explain it but the way they look at you just cracks me up constantly.

If you play the original PlayStation version on disc you can play the combat encounters with two controllers. So it is one of 4 Final Fantasy Games I know to be couch co-op.

3:11 Vivi’s line here isn’t a great translation. The original Japanese is: 生きてるってこと、証明できなければ死んでしまっているのと同じなのかなぁ, which roughly means “If you can't show proof that you're living, it might as well be the same thing as being dead”.
