Final Fantasy II GBA - White Magic Exhibition

This video showcases all levels and animations of all of the White Magic spells in the Gameboy Advance version of Final Fantasy II. Note that this took quite a while to do even with hacking the game to change levels, mostly due to the shear number of animations used throughout all spells.

FFII has the coolest 2D black and white magic animations. The Basuna/Esuna, Flare, and Ultima animations are some of my favs to this date.

Animations stop at level 10 but they grinded to 16 solely because it was max level.

The spellcasting animation itself does change at Level 16, after all. As for Revive, it's a special snowflake. While every other spell has sixteen levels and costs an amount of MP equal to its level, Revive has only one level and costs all of your MP to cast.

I wish ultima remains white magics it suitable for white mage in later Final Fantasy ultima magic design.

A minute of silence, for all those poor souls that grinded to max spells like Flare, Holy and Ultima, only for their normal attacks to end up doing twice, if not thrice more damage. Spell damage calculation on this game was garbage.

If you grinded your other spells, Ultima's dmg was based off all of your spell levels, not just Ultima's spell levels. Hence it being very easy to level compared to black magic, as you can grind support magic way easier than offensive magic, you're always casting Cure and such. If you have all your White Magic around lv16 (including Ultima) then AoE Ultima will oneshot all enemies in Pandaemonium most of the time. It will OHKO most bosses there (aside from the final boss), dealing 9999 dmg most of the time. Ultima is just freaking insane if you took the time to max out all your buff spells on your "White Mage." I just finished the Pixel Remaster... I don't even know what the bosses before the Emperor even do, besides die. They never had a turn before Firion said "Nope, you die. Have an Ultima in the face. 9999 dmg." Poor Maria with her 99 INT and level 16 Flare wished she could deal damage like that...

Ultima is the definitive spell. And it end doing 9999 damage only for 16 mp. Is not garbage.
