WOW Really Great to see Shadow Zeros spell being cast, I did it once myself years and years ago maybe 95, a long time ago and have never seen it since. I didn't know how i did it then and no one saw it but me so no one believed me. just bought SOM on the virtual console on the Wii and am loving it, What a great game. i'm gonna be on it trying to do that spell again now i know i wasn't me being crazy.

When i first saw those new magic spells, particular the shade, i thought the game glitched!

@Isurandil Evil Gates isn't a sucky spell. It's a very focused spell and needs to be used against monsters that have extremely high defense and are hard to hit with physical weapons. It's also a spell that's more effective in the middle of the game, not necessarily towards the end where strength and other spells become so powerful that it doesn't even matter anymore.

@Isurandil There's a few that change a little more freqently too. Like Airblast changes from sharts, to disks, to huge blades. I think Exploder changed from small clouds to larger ones to two sets of larger particle clouds. I think Lightning Bolt changes 3 times too. I dont remember. I'm playinig it though again.

Now that the SoM remake on PS4 is out, I can´t wait to see if they added special aimations too. Right now I have all spells on lvl 7 so I´ve got some more work to do until I can see it!

I was hoping to see explanations of the spells, like what's the difference between the three Salamandra attack spells. Didn't know shadow zero thing though, so I still learned something. I think that's cool how the girl has Mana Yin and the sprite has Mana Yang, it's just mana sword in English

@Isurandil Yeah, it is extremely focused. I think Evil gate worked absolute wonders on one of the Blob bosses too (doni't remember the name) but then again, Dark Force is easily one of the most indespensible spells in the game too. Beast is hardly a fair term for its gloriousness.

Opening a treasure chest with a shadow zero gives you a 3rd random animation spell with them at level 8 using Shade's dark gate.

Now I understand ;) Not sure about this. I cannot say whether I opened a shadow zero treasure chest before or not. I always found Flying Omelette pretty accurate (www.flyingomelette.com/oddities/oddities25.html): "Even if you are never lucky enough to see a Shadow Zero pop out of a treasure chest, there is another way to see them. After you have all 8 of the Mana Seeds, keep using the Sprite's Shade magic until it says "8:99" beside it on his status screen. Now, keep casting Evil Gate over and over again, and eventually..." So, I'm leaning towards "treasure chest shadow zero no prerequisite". ;D

Yes yes yes and yes!!!!!!! They have this on playstation 3 store in playstation 1 classics to play on the playstation 3. This is the first RPG I ever played as a little boy and have based all rpgs on it. I just needed to make sure this was the one because there are several other Mana games out there not like this one

Secret of Mana never got a release on a Sony console. The fourth game in the Mana franchise, Legend of Mana, was the first one for PlayStation 1. Then followed Seiken Densetsu 4 (Dawn of Mana) in 2007 which was the seventh game of the franchise.

@SirEliiwood Ist ein ganz normaler Zauber, der bei Nocturn dabei ist. Wenn du den Spezialeffekt mit den Shadow Zeros meinst: immer und immer wieder zaubern und irgendwann hast du dann Glück.

Mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass, wenn das Fake wäre, ich wohl sicher der Falsche wäre, den du fragen kannst, kann ich dir versichern, dass das kein Fake ist ^^ Das ist eine Spezialanimation der Höllenaura von Nocturn und die Wahrscheinlichkeit des Auftretens schätze ich irgendwo jenseits 1:1000 ein. Willst gar nicht wissen, wie oft ich den Zauber anwenden musste, bis da endlich mal die Animation mit den Shadow Zeros kam xD War der aufwendigste Teil des Videos ^^

@Isurandil ich hab das spiel ja schon ein paar mal durch, ich wollte nur fragen, weil ich eben noch nicht bis 8 lvln kann, obwohl ich alle 8 manasamen habe (aber die Siegel sind gebrochen). Bei 7.0 ist derweil schluss, wann wird das 8.lvl freigeschalten? Geht das schon am Manavulkan/-baum oder erst in der Manafestung?

Das ist auf einem SNES-Emulator gespielt, kann aber aus (lang ist's her ^^) Erfahrung sagen, dass das auch tatsächlich auf der echten Konsole so war. Eine Wii-Version von Secret of Mana habe ich bislang noch nicht gespielt. Es würde mich aber stark wundern, wenn die sich den Aufwand gemacht hätten diese Dinge zu entfernen/ändern. Ich denke, dass der Portierungsaufwand hoch genug ist.

Mit dem Emulator ging das Leveln, weil ich da ja Fast Forward machen kann. Aber das geht halt nicht mehr bei den Shadow Zeros. Da habe ich dann immer Savestate gemacht, Zauber ausgeführt und geschaut, ob es klappt. Wenn nein, dann weiter mit neuem Savestate, sodass ich am Ende einen Savestate direkt vor den Shadow Zeros hatte. Die Idee dahinter war, dass da intern ein Zufallszahlengenerator mitlaufen muss und ich den nur auf einen bestimmten Wert brauchte ;) So habe ich den bekommen xD

@Eurospezial Ich will nichts spoilern, deswegen verrate ich nur so viel: im ganz normalen Spielverlauf erhälst du die Fähigkeit auf Level 8 (bis 8:99) hochzuleveln. Viel Spaß beim Spielen! :D

I remember on the SNES when I got those special effects on the spells, I was like WTF. Then I realized, everytime it happened, you couldn't move. I think my first one was with Shadow's Magic... Dark Force it's called? Don't remember (not evil gate). That awkward explosion in the end scrared me, thought I was glitched. I never got Shadow Zero to work, always got the treasure chest though :-/ .. (spell doesnt seem that impressive anyhow..)

Also ein Fake ist das sicherlich nicht mir dem Shadow Zeros. Nur die Wahrscheinlichkeit ist zwar gering, aber weitaus höher als 1:1000. Die Chance ist ca 1:10 gegenüber der besonderen Animationen. Was im Endeffekt auf einen Wert um 1-2 % hinaus läuft. Die Shadow Zero's tauchen nur auf, wenn man im laufe des Spieles einen dieser Kerle in einer Truhe gefunden hat. Bei den Meisten dürfte es in/oder vor der Manafestung sein. Der Fund eines Shadow Zero's in einer Truhe gilt als Falle ohne Wirkung.

@KeinScheissDarkNick Wenn das prozentualer Schaden ist, dann hat der Klatscher in der Manafestung 134/388 (= 34,5%) und die Dornenwespe 32/65 (= 49,2%) Schaden bekommen. Ich habe Höllenaura im regulären Spiel links liegen lassen. Viel zu teuer für den geringen Nutzen. Wahrscheinlich haben die die Shadow Zeros absichtlich auf einen Spell gelegt, der total schlecht ist, damit die Leute den Effekt noch seltener zu sehen bekommen ^^
