Seriously, when you enter the tower you are level 35-40. When you get to the final boss you are nearly level 60 and there is no save point in between...

I remember this. The ending part was difficult because the last save point was so far away from the final boss. We have to enter a large dungeon and fight a boss there (I think) then there is a portal that takes us to the dark world where we have to fight 4 bosses and after that, the final boss herself.

At least the remake actually has a decently designed final dungeon (minus save points of course) in the original, Cloud of Darkness just used a single move that dealt 2.5k damage to the entire party every turn. Hope you grinder enough to survive that because that is her only attack.

Just beat this boss for the first time after dropping this game a few years ago, level 56 running Warrior (with job level 99, advance is secretly op... but not at this particular boss), devout, summoner and a Ninja. This boss took my by surprise by how hard and scary it was, especially since the game didnt let me save for the whole dark world dungeon. The ninja/warrior simply didnt have enough magic resistance to survive a single turn, but luckily my the devout and the summoner pulled through, Devout had to be Hasted the whole time to cast curaja before anything happened, and the summoner spammed Bahamut and used elixers whenever we needed MP. It was a long, slightly tedious fight and stressful fight, I was just so relieved I didnt have to re-do everything. Really wish I knew what kind of strategy I could've used BEFORE jumping into this one.

I just beat the game for the first time also after giving up on it way back when I played it on the DS. The final dungeon this time around was a lot easier than I remember. I had a party of a dark knight, dragoon, magus and devout. All early level 60s with level 99 jobs. Even the mages were dealing 4-5,000 damage with regular physical attacks. I was surprised. Lol.

I beat this with Luneth as a job level 99 warrior, ninja Arc, Blackbelt Ingus and Devout Refia, with everyone having ribbons equipped they all were level 61 besides Ingus, he was level 62, I usually would take out the left tentacle first, it has about 66k hp, and it'll make the entire fight easier, the tentacle would stop using thunder if you defeated it, then I hasted Luneth and Ingus, advance spammed CoD which did 9999 damage but it's actually more, it just shows as 9999, and kept throwing shurikens at her doing the same, and having Refia heam everyone every few turns, it isn't really bad if you know what to do.

Double Devout and Double Ninja at level 52(minimum) with bought shurikens ensures a victory for the dungeon anyone who is about to give up on the ending to this game. You need 10 shurikens total for the snake heads.

I really liked FFIII when I played through it on the DS, but hated that save points were not in the game and you couldn't buy phoenix downs. Nice job!

The Phoenix down weren't that much of a problem, at the end I had 21 Phoenix downs and already had raise and arise. So really not big of a problem you can't buy them. You can also go to that mountain where that dragon boss and use the thief to steal the item out of a bird. The way you can only save in the open world, however, is very annoying. Specially since the final boss is 2 hours away from the point start of crystal tower. Just so when you reach the final boss it kills you in 2 turns and those 2 hours go down the drain.

@@izalco2867 Indeed. The last gauntlet of bosses, including the final boss, is brutal with no save opportunities in-between. It really tests how good your final party is...

I played the DS Version a LONG time ago when it first came out, then I played the Android port last summer, and just yesterday I beat the original NES Fan Translated version. I know it's rare to find a real copy so yeah I played the emulated version on my phone with a controller. After playing the remake twice it made playing the original that much better. I highly suggest it if you can emulate.

Also, adding to this: pretty sure NO jobs in this game are missable! So don't worry about that! Only exception I can think of is Onion Knight in the DS version being permanently sealed off after the date Nintendo (I seriously wish the Big-N had an "s" in their name so I could replace it with a dollar sign...I know it's a cliche, but I think it applies for Nintendo just as much as Microsoft. And Sony. And every other sizable company) shut down DS Wi-Fi, but that's not exactly a fault of the *game*, just the console itself. Okay, so SQEX could've made the DS version not need Wi-Fi to get the bonus stuff, like they did with the PSP version and they had to know Nintendo would shut down DS Wi-Fi at some point. But still...kinda different than most "missable" things in nature. Also, technically, since the guy's playing the PSP version, any gripes about the DS being "old" now are irrelevant! But I just mentioned it to keep 10000 people from "correcting" me.

Oyah i finished the game with dark knight, dragoon, viking and bard with no healer. I just used blood sword and blood lance when it starts using particle beam and i use elixir for viking and bard when their life goes below 1k

Have the DS version and got to the final boss before dying and being sent all the way back to the start of the Crystal Tower. After that, I quit the game for 10 years. I just came back to it and beat the final boss.

After just playing the NES version, seeing Ahriman starting the battle with, seriously, QUAKE, it annoys me to no end. I don't know if it is the NES version or my particular rom but in my game, it would consistently start with Meteor, which would result in all my party members left in 200HP at best, or a 1-turn full party wipe at worst

i JUST BEAT HER AT LEVEL 55 SO HARD. First u gotts kill the left snake, its easy but the right one is hard asf then it took me several min to kill her but still managed. Party is ninja, dragoon, devout and magus. Have dragoon jump always thief shuriken the left snake and cod while magud focus on right snake which is too hard to kill then she will cast part beam it will not kill the party if full health. Always heal for devout dont waste any turns or ull regret it

Exp makes sense.. Because they get more experienced in combat after this, but why would you get money from a cloud? Especially if it's the final boss.

Max heal in the entire franchise is Cursasa, appearing in the 13 games and only the 13 games. In FF11 it was Curada, and in the rest of the franchise after 9, healing spells stop at Curaja

The 3rd remake was ported on PSP six years later after first released on DS. The 4th remake was never ported on PSP or any Sony device.

Really unbalanced final boss compared to the final four "mini" bosses in the world of darkness. I breezed through them, then got creamed by the cloud. I was only level 50. No way am i gonna spend 10 hours grinding up to level 70 just to see the ending. Thanks.
