Released less than a month before I was born in 1991, this is a classic FF that appears in many people's top lists even 30 years later. It has undergone endless ports and remasters and even a 3D remake, but I decided after much research and discussion to go with the PSP version. It appears to be the optimal 2D version of the game, combining the original authentic feel with new and improved sprite work and some extras from the GBA version.

This is a tough cave, you're doing well, my main advice at this point would be to stop holding back with Rydia - just unleash with her right away rather than a little bit at a time, it saves more MP to just wipe everything with one attack.

I usually don't mind random encounters, but the encounter rate in FFIV can be very frustrating I must say

nah nah nah, zodiac age's zodiac spear is much easier to get. It's the original version's zodiac spear that is extremely rare

This was one of many things that lowered my opinion of that game. What an absolute bastard move to make the best weapon in the game literally unobtainable for most players in most games, like WHY???

I'm playing Zodiac Age, and I'm in the high 20's got some decent equipment from the trial mode. When is the Zodiac Spear obtained in Trial Mode?

I wonder if he will ever jump with Kain... 9.9 6.6 or isn't it that good? I don't remember...

Jump is not really worth it most of the time. Good for enemies that counter attack tho. Also works just as well from the back row, so I often put Kain in the back so he can tank a bit

Jump is definitely useful for the final boss battle imo

That blood lance has kain totally nerfed in this cave...what a waste.
