This is definitely my favorite FF game because of the characters, storyline and battle mechanics. And the soundtrack is also one of my favorites from any video game, amazing. People appreciate FFVII more because of its nostalgia, but I enjoyed this game as a young kid a lot more.

I like the materia mechanic of 7 more even though I think ff9 has the better story and also I like the diversity in the cast also I think ff9 has the most balance cast as everyone can not use the same spells and attacks

He could have very well been a secret character, like Vincent and Yuffie. Played no part in the plot whatsoever, but was just the strong asshole. He only had a run in with zidane(maybe from a rival thief clan or something), and that was it.

I disagree. I think his role in the story is very important, and he undergoes alot of character growth He serves as a foil to Zidane who is kind-hearted. Amarant, while not bad or malicious, is brash and arrogant. He likes to prove how tough he is, and interprets the actions of others as equally ego driven displays of power Towards the end of the game, his win pose changes to him sitting in a meditative position, signaling his growth from tough guy with something to prove to humble and pensive This ties into the overall theme of the game that power for its own sake ultimately leaves one alone and tortured, like Kuja. True will to power is mastery over oneself, and acceptance of fate

Fortunate for Ozma that Cloud or Squall weren't around. This is basically a normal enemy encounter to them. Don't even get me started on Wakka with his ultimate weapon.

@@joshuataylor7443 because he's a beast. the only guy that can counter both physical and magical attacks,he can restore both hp and mp without the use of an item,he can throw,no mercy is one of the most powerful skills at a low mp cost,he can revive(more effective in his trance which can revive an entire party like the phoenix eidolon),he's strong in battle and quick,and has the potential to attack multiple times per turn with the use of his counter abilities and his normal turn.

Ozma is most likely a forgotten Eidolon. Eidolon thrives on the legends about themselves. If those legends are lost, so does the Eidolon's supposed form based around those legends leaving a swirling mass of energy like Ozma.
