I just left it on autopilot when after the cage, so the Alexandrian soldiers would endlessly run at me and trigger combat. It's useful for giving Eiko inflated stats.

A bother for me is that Beatrix doesn't get any boss battles. Just mandatory battles with monsters you can find elsewhere.

Or cinna for that matter... It would have been so nice for them to have been expanded characters. A little backstory sidequest and they unlock their secondary ability. I would have loved a cinna blackmagethief. Maybe one day someone will get a mod in order.

You can play the Alternate Fantasy mod. It includes Beatrix in the main story.

X4 speed...... try the evil forest in disc 1.... i got Zidane to level 99 inside the evil forest which took 1817 hour grind totaling to 144,816 battles.... that took 4 months to get the challenge done

It was fixed but Eiko still got Marcus stats, only not so much like before.

@@pandora2456 No. FFIX is an incredible game, but it's also a very easy game. You've only really got Ozma and Hades as the somewhat challenging enemies. This is a 1000% completionists goal, but just playing regularly, you'll be fine.

Kind of cheap how they didn't program Marcus cinna blank and Beatrix as unlockables, maybe even Lani too. Lani a red mage Cinna an alt black mage Blank so kind of necromancer Beatrix as she was And Marcus...beastmaster...

Spoiler alert) At the start of disc 2 when you get of the carousel and you enter treno,advance the story until you head to the underground area before the pink serpent" boss fight,it is in one of the main room with the kupo ,you should have dagger Steiner and Marcus in your party at this time
