Final Fantasy Legend 3 (GB) Final Battle

Final Battle for Final Fantasy Legend 3 on Gameboy.
Xagor has around 50,000 HP so this battle will last a while.
I went with the same team as I did in the previous Legend games, 2 Humans and 2 Mutants. In this game I spent alot of time and got them up to level 53-55 and they have some of the best armor and spells.
Also if you notice any skips in the music or video, thats just my attempt at re-syncing the audio, the same applies to the ending videos.

Just had my first run. That final battle was intense, took a risk with the final blow with xcalibr, with only 2 of my team standing and no profitable healing options left. ...was a gamble, but in the end we saved all generations, allright

this game has a remake on the nintendo ds as saga 3 shadow or light and yes its fully english. so thats why i name and it is. final fantasy legend 3 (nintendo ds) and the final boss in the ds version has a third yes a third form.

The "Talon" is the giant airship you get fly. Later on in the game when you get it, you can buy weapons for it and it helps you out in battle.

I remember reserving this game at a place called the Electronics Boutique back in the early nineties. It was originally going to be called Final Fantasy Saga when I first reserved it, but then the name was changed to FF Legend lll. I never knew there was a game called SaGa. Interesting.

I think Dion was piloting the ship. It was an awesome touch to that final battle. Amazing for an original gameboy game.

Only in Japan sadly. Funny enough (spoiler alert), Xagor isn't the final boss in that version. Borgin actually betrays the team and he becomes the final boss iirc.

Great game, great music, good story... One of the freakiest creatures i've ever seen XD I use the name Xagor a lot (Especially in Monster raising games)

ohh this boss couldnt look less of a threat. but the music rules xxx not as much as dion's theme. but it is still kick arse xxxx and the idea of letting the talon attack was brilliant. this is my number one favorite game. topping even final fantasy 7

I used to play this game around early 2000's and I usually wonder when this came actually came out as compared to the timeline the original final fantasy series. This game has its own distinct style outside the traditional FF. I didn't know how I was able to finish this without any guides haha.

+Patrick Dilla Fun Fact: All of the Gameboy Final Fantasy Legend games were actually SaGa games in disguise! They were renamed because American's would recognize the Final Fantasy name and buy it on that basis (my childhood self included). As an aside, I believe that I read somewhere that this 3rd game was frowned upon in Japan because it actually was too similar to an FF game and broke away from a lot of the SaGa conventions made before it.. I think they pretty much only kept in the meat eating/cyborg parts. Other than that, it really felt Final Fantasyish.. which is probably why it was my favorite of the Legend series back in the day. :P

Oh... That's why.. But who cares, it's still the same developer. But nowadays, square just create some RPGs and name them Final Fantasy.. I hope they bring back the classics like FF7 Remake. They need to bring back the original feel to the brand.

The monster encounter rate in this game is intense, they're all over the place. It's not too hard to get a high level in this game if you put the time and effort into getting it.

@masonlebourn Agreed about the music. Dion's theme is incredible. I'd leave my gameboy on when it was playing just so I could listen to it. Heck. I left one of the save files right next to a point where I could hear it as much as I wanted.

@Artificialraven Actually. You just find the u-weapons for it. Like Cannon, Missile, Laser?, whatever. E-ray's the final one. U stands for unit (parts for your ship).

There is a way to beat him in half the time. While he is still sol, use the magic that powers up your levels during battle and then you will take more hp out of him. My brother taught me that trick.

...good memories..I remember fighting this boss then halfway through when I was gettin my ass kicked the Talon came outta nowhere and started blasting the hell outta Xagor...eventually I beat him after a few tries...great rpg, great memories

That's due to the fact that Sol is holding Xagor's soul in his body. Sol wants you to destroy him and Xagor at the same time, thus the sad battle music. Freaking casters doing damage upwards of 1000 is just funny. Ah, the good ol days.

can someone tell me where did i should go after beating the third boss of this game and sent lara to the present? i dont expected that final fantasy legend 3 final boss could be a meat ball with tentacles. dissapointing though.... BUT THAT'S INSANE THAT ITS ATTACKS COULD REACH 120-900!! and thats almost the maximum possible hp! there's no need more extra boss!!!!

@jorgandar He is when you have everything. I made the mistake of going up against him without any of the advanced magic to heal and I can't remember if I had any of the mystic swords equipped lol

This is nostalgic. I was disappointed that the final boss wasn't harder: get hit and heal much like any other enemy. On the other hand, it may have been too hard if it required learning what those combinable spells did. On an unrelated note, I never figured out why Talon's equipment was always prefixed with U. Anyone have a guess/explanaition?

Too bad we're probably gonna have to wait a year or so for it to be complete.

Nobuo Uematsu*, and he didn't do that much in CT, he is more famous for doing FF1-FF9 soundtrack completely alone. He also did some in FF10 and whole FF14 too. Same with FFL1 (SaGa 1). This track was not done by Nobuo Uematsu, neither the album, but there are probably some roots of something he has done on it.

Only thing I didn't like about this battle was how Xagor looked. Battle music is awesome, badass to have the Talon help fight in the final battle (& actually kick butt), yet Xagor just looks like a meatball or a tangled ball of vines or something.

Officially, AR, you begin with a party of 2 Humans and 2 Mutants, but you can change their races to either monsters or robot by either eating meat left from monster enemies and spare parts dropped by robotic enemies in battle.

To put it in perspective, I remember supposedly it saying you;'re just fighting a fraction of what's essentially been replacing the seas and oceans of that world; invading inland till it nearly drowns everything. Hell you have the AI of the Talon ship suddenly appearing and lending assistance to the fight.

ok look, this battle was total slash. I mean that in a bad way. sure we can have the main characters using spells but mainly if you had equipped each of them with the legendary blades, like the 4 you get throughout the game and had all characters at level 99 like I did, then pretty much 2,000 damage per hit or more. this battle is kinda sad and coming from a true game pro I feel sorry for the guy that wasted his time recording this.
