Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Retrospective - Simple but good

I have always loved this game, so many fond memories of renting it and trying to finish it before I had to return it the next day. What are your thoughts about Mystic Quest?

Yeah I haven't had experience with the auto features with DQ having only played the first 4.

I do like FF Mystic Quest. It's a simple but lovely RPG. I also find the maps, overworld and overall "level designs" to be quite charming. Great review, Dan!

I'm really glad you called attention to the battle damage on enemy sprites, that's one of my favorite features in this game. I had no idea you could Exit cheese those bosses!

Yeah, I felt I should have shown some examples while I was speaking about the damage sprites but oh well. I didn’t know about the Exit cheese till I speedran it. Honestly I didn’t even know you could use Exit in a fight as a kid. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!

I used to spam Exit on trash mobs, it is so satisfying and it actually works unlike death spells in any other FF game :D

In the SNES generation FF5 and mystic quests were my favorite with the final fantasy title, Then probably Chrono trigger, Secret of Mana and link to the past.
