Not just Final Fantasy VI, but the previous five entries as well. Voice acting should be thrown in as well, as HD-2D games are known to feature it. I’d prefer full 3D myself in Unreal Engine 5, which is known for its ease of development. Another choice is Modern Remaster, which would at least reuse the graphic assets of the last version before Pixel Remaster, in the style of PSP 2D games, utilizing the power of Unity Engine. The purchase options for Final Fantasy HD-2D Remaster would be either individual purchase or trilogy bundles (NES Trilogy bundle and SNES Trilogy bundle).

Yeah no. Story alone isn't what makes Final Fantasy games great. Playing GTA with cheats vs playing it normally for the first time was a night and day difference. Free 3d controls vs classic tank controls in Resident Evil. Huge difference. Final Fantasy 12 with 4 x speed. All 3 games were ruined. Why? Cause who plays games to just get the story? Believe it or not, most of these games stories kinda suck. If you don't truly go immerse yourself into the world, just skip by.... All you left with is a story that's pretty simple. Play Mario with constant immortality on. See how the experience is

Maybe I do both if I can leave the game on its own, like colony management games on the minimum speed so I look at them from time to time while I read. In terms of videogame mechanics, I started my videogame journey with Chrono Trigger and was perfect in terms of combat for me: no random encounters with enemies on the screen you could avoid, but still turn-based so I don't have to mash buttons like a maniac. Traveling through the map also didn't have encounters. Having the chance to skip random encounters in FF6 achieve something similar to that effect: disable them after like eight battles per map area, and no random encounters in the map.

For “Font Style”, I’d like a serif variant of “Modernized” and “Classic.” When you switch the language to Japanese and the font style to Classic, the “Now Loading” message appears in a pixel serif font, hence the new options “Modernized Serif” and “Classic Serif.”

I’ve never played any of these. Wild to think you can play 1-8 with two switch game cartridges. Going to have to get them both

75 seems too high for a collection of games that are decades old I'd still be iffy even at $60 The only way 75 really seems worth it is if they included some of the other games in the collection like 7-9 at least since you have to install the games separately anyway. I get that doesn't fit with the "pixel" theme but for $75 it seems like it could go for some extra value or just lower the price. I say that having just pre ordered MMBN collection

Well, square Enix is known to sell their games overpriced. Ff8 on steam is around $10 on a sale.

I have a hard time justifying buying the full collection because I vastly prefer the 3D versions of III and IV, all of the other ones I’ve played and loved the PR for though.

Pixel Remaster 4 and 6 are probably the best ones to purchase. Still waiting for RE - Remake of FFIV 3D. It deserves a remake just like FFVII got. Ofcourse the story should be expanded on. Overall the graphics and music are kick ass! Enjoying the nostalgia!

Despite the new font style, the games are difficult to play on the Switch in handheld mode because the font is too small. This is especially true when playing on the Switch Lite being almost unplayable. I hope they patch this 😢

My knowledge of final fantasy's a bit limited but Did I catch it right that the recommendation is to play "strangers of Paradise" before starting final fantasy 1? So far the only final fantasy I've ever played in fully completed was final fantasy 7. This has been on my radar once it was announced, seems like a great way to get into the series.

$75 is what’s catching me off guard All 6 games should be $60 MAX These have been rereleased SOOOOO many times… I wouldn’t consider this compilation worth more than a brand new AAA game or 5 months of GamePassUltimate

I think people comparing this to something like Octopath Traveler, or more modern remasters is a bit flawed. Yes it's $70 which is a hefty price and about what you'd pay for...Tears of the Kingdom. It's worth highlighting just how much work goes into pixel art. It's not like they create the character model and have a camera. They have to create individual sprite for each facing, each animation. If you look at a sprite sheet sometime? One character may have 30+ different sprites. Take Tera for instance. You'd have a front, back, left and right sprite. But let's say you want her ponytail to be animated. That may mean the back then has three sprites just for that animation. Then you have the various sprites for "walking" animations. Now take that multiply it by the number of characters in your party. Then you have the environments, the enemy monsters that need sprites, etc. Then you have the redone music overseen by Nobuo Uematsu. These aren't cheap mobile ports like Square had put out prior. It's actually cheaper to buy them as a bundle than to buy them all individually. Not only that but with how square fucked up preorders? The physical bundle will be hard to come by. With the pixel remasters I will have FF 1-12 all on Switch on physical (Even FF7 and FF8, X and X-2) excluding 11 of course.

Not enough people are talking about the stuttering that all games suffer from regarding of the plateform ( PC / Switch / Playstation ). Square needs to patch this and fix it. It is possible to patch it manually on pc and it is so much smoother.
