It wasn’t till I was much older that I even realized what they were for and only ever now and then do I raise my brave of faith mostly just play the game like chess ♟️ and even against hard enemies all you need is some good tactics. I almost never use magic abilities and I only recently started playing as a mediator

If your Bravery and Faith aren't too low or Zodiac signs then RNG and damage can be a problem but if its pretty solid or something should be great lol. And yeah I had no clue about Bravery increasing as a kid especially with scream/shout

I'd say yes and no. Depends lol. I like low faith generally on my melee characters so mages can't nuke them. But we all have our different playstyles.

Awesome video!! The stats actually increase and decrease by 1 point permanently for every 4 points they change in battle. So you can use Steel (Cheer Up) 4 times for 5 permanent points. It’s such a weird mechanic, that if your ally’s Brave/Faith points get too high or too low, they’ll give you a warning about leaving and then sometimes leave the party permanently. I personally try to get all my party’s faith up to 70 because it seems like that’s the magic number for spell buff accuracy like Haste and Protect. And last point, you can actually lose the permanent Brave boost from the Mandalia Plains Argath (Algus) battle if you don’t beat him in the first two turns of the Fort Zeakden Battle. Not sure if it’s different in later versions, but this is the case in PS1 original.

Thank you. I go over the exact specifics in the video especially when they start to leave and so on. It takes quite a few turns from my experience. When he talks and goes into details about why you saved him or didn't save him then the Bravery starts to decrease in battle and permanently.

Great video as always. Personally, i find myself having low faith with nearly all of my characters. Several builds just don't care about using faith, and resistance to magic is always useful. Though it has it's uses, Black Mages and Summoners basically need it to do anything with their jobs. In the end, it depends on what builds you want to make.

Thanks so much! And yeah you are right and I'm in the same boat for low faith on the vast majority of my characters. Some people just like being able to cast things like protect and so on. So I just said depends on the playstyle lol.

Lol Scott Steiner is the Tiamat and Kurt Angle is the red chocobo lol. Np at all and thank you. I haven't done a video yet but Rafa's damage isn't impacted by her faith stat so you can reduce her faith to 3 and enemy faith doesn't matter. To increase her damage increase her Magic attack stat and also things that increase elemental damage. Marach his faith needs to be low and target's faith needs to be low but also his MA stat and elemental damage also impact his damage. All in all Rapha is just better also has a higher speed stat if I'm remembering correctly. Thank you!

My Summoner/Calculator dual-wields Rod of Faith + Wizards Rod. Her current Magick Power is 22 w/ 97 Faith & Reaction Mana Shield. The girl literally kills everything and cannot be hit. Good job mentioning Geomancy. I have a Geo/Bard who can nearly one-shot enemy magic users with AVG damage for 300+

Recently found your channel and am all about it. Great vids, content and format all while talking about one of the best games ever made. Do you have or would you consider putting together your fav srpgs ? Just curious other ones you find really fun. I’m personally a fan of shining force 1-3 and triangle strategy. ( FFT of course is #1) :)

Thanks so much for the wonderful comment! That is a tough question for me to answer. As honestly aside from a few I don't really play that genre a whole lot even though my channel is mostly FFT lol. For me personally I think my favorites are. I've played other titles like Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together PSP version which is amazing but I think the games I listed below are the ones that I can keep playing. FFT + FFT WOTL Jeanne'darc I forget which Shining Force I played as a kid I think it had a Centaur and a guy named Luke? Never did finish it but I remember having fun with it.

I haven't played any of the mods for FFT/WOTL yet. but I am going to look into it after this playthrough. If you have a Nintendo switch, as a fellow fft fan, please do yourself a solid and play triangle strategy. A modern masterpiece, which is rare. Keep me posted if you do :D Oh, and I am going to browse your channel, but do you cover how to patch the mods / play them?

In the past, I would make all my enemies on some of my random battle encounters into chickens and inflict them with debuffs like stop or slow. It's hilarious and a good method to keep enemies at bay when I'm doing level downs and ups on a character. Fun times. ^^

My opinion is characters with high faith should be able to get a higher chance to dispel negative debuffs on themselves, like the saving throw system in pathfinder/dnd

If you choose not to save Algus, each party member on the field gets +10 Brave. If you let the battle at Fort Zeakden drag on long enough, Algus and Ramza will have a conversation where Algus brings up choosing the mission over saving him, and Ramza will get -10 Brave for the rest of the battle (and -2 permanently)

I know everything about Bravery & Faith in general Bravery stands for how well you deal and receive physical damage and. It also raises the activation rate of reaction and abilities. Having high bravery makes you powerful but vulnerable. Lower Bravery makes you weak but reduces damage taken, also lowering the activation rate of reaction abilities. Faith stands for how well you deal and receive magical damage. Having high Faith raises percentage rates of supportive magic and status-inducing magic, potency of healing magic, and magic power. Having zero Faith makes you untouchable to all magic. For example, Rapha's abilities are based how high her Faith is. As for her brother, Marach, his abilities are based on how low his Faith is.

It depends I got into more details of each specifically in the video but in short. For Bravery it only affects knight swords, unarmed, and katanas for real physical damage and all reaction abilities besides Abandon/Reflex and Weapon Guard/Parry. Rapha doesn't matter with her faith so you can just lower her all the way down to 3 and be okay.

Which is better? PSX FFT? Or Wotl? I'm playing through wotl for the first time after countless hours of psx fft, and I have to admit, the new translation is pretty bad, but I'm enjoying everything else (except the higher JP costs for some abilities waaah!)

Tough question. PSX does have some cool names of the abilities and better sounds for abilities. While War of the Lions has more content, cool cutscenes, more sidequests and so on. Also the emulator PPSSPP is superior I feel because the interface and can minimize and maximize a lot easier. I like both so I just play both and switch back time to time but for the most part WOTL is better I feel.

Yeah in most cases. Because males have more base PA and HP and females more MA and mp. Although it can vary widely depending on what they level up as
