@@AvalancheReviews You know, I went back and played through FF XIII and Type-0 about a month ago. You can still see bits and pieces where Square was gonna have the lore connect XIII & the Types. Honestly the PS Vita would've been the perfect handheld for Type-1/Next. But now that the Vita is dead it'll more then likely come to consoles and PC.

Disgaea 2 is another super underrated RPG. I think every item in the game has a dungeon, and I remember it being really difficult and complex. It's really charming to and the story was good. It's been a long time, but I remember that, type - 0, and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth were really good.

GrijzeVos Since there aren't too many people in south FL playing hacked isos of import psp games, I didn't get a chance to use the multiplayer, but I can live without those kind of features. I can see the appeal, but I tend to shy away from multiplayer features in single player games like FFT0 and Dark Souls.

I might actually have to hack one of my 3 PSPs to play it now though because this looks like it has a lot of stuff I enjoy in an JRPG. It also what looks like to be an improvement on Crisis Core, which I liked but I found the combat to get monotonous by the end.

Nice one! I wrote a review for this a while back but never got all the footage because my copy keeps crashing during cutscenes now for some reason. I think I hated the camera more than you did. I always felt like I was fighting it during battles. Still, it has to be one of the most impressive PSP games I've played. Kinda sucks I heard they're stripping the multiplayer aspect. I love this game, but I do wonder if the like hype train is going to hurt its reception.

This game looks pretty sick. I have been losing faith in so JRPG's after Blue Dragon disappointed my Akira Toriyama loving heart. Been playing through Star Ocean:The Last Hope with it's fun fighting and wooden cut scenes. Action RPG's have always been my favourite, thank you for bringing this game to light.

there will be an HD remaster coming this March bundled with a voucher code for FFXV demo, apparently the original director of FFXV has stepped down to continue his work on Kingdom Hearts 3 development (which is awesome btw) and Type-0 director is replacing him, I'm somewhat sceptical about his questionable design choices on the gameplay, will it affect the final product or will he prove us all wrong, what is your opinion on that matter?

For me, what I have heard about this game is that it can be unforgiving in its difficulty due to the lack of healing spells and phoenix downs. Also doesn't help that the 14 characters have the permanent death design choice and you can be left unprepared for certain missions like if you had to take out an airborne boss, but didn't have anyone who could use long-range weapons or magic, you would be screwed. I am super excited for the HD version since it will also have an easy mode for everyone so it won't be an intimidating game to get into. Don't get me wrong, I love challenge in a game, but these days, I don't have time to just sit down and learn how the difficulty works before I start playing and enjoying the game. Personally, I rather get into the game first and have fun first and foremost instead of feeling like the fun of a game is hiding behind a brick wall. Glad to be of service! It was a little rough at first, but when I wrapped my head around the combat system, I found the game to be much fairer. I don't think the normal setting has prema-death, because my team mates die all the time. Just entering a friendly town revives the fallen. Don't get me wrong though, I totally understand the inclusion of an easy mode. If anything, that would be perfect for cruising through and experiencing the story.

What I fucking hate is that people ALWAYS complain about how the graphics look! It was on PSP originally so of course it won't be as great as the other PS4 games but it still looks freaking amazing!!! The game is so much fun and I absolutely love the story of it! I played it on my PSP for around 2 years (Both Japanese and English translation versions) and I still haven't done or collected everything yet! It really annoys me that most of the people complain about is the graphics of the game, and not the bigger picture! Omfg if IGN does a review in March and gives it a low score, with one of the biggest gripes being the graphics, I will get so pissed! It's like the Pokemon Omega Ruby review all over again! I hear bad things about Type-0 HD's localization, from bad voice-acting to awkwardly timed subtitles (when switched to Japanese audio, specifically). That, and the horrendous amount of motion blur they added... I'm strongly considering just skipping out on it and playing this fan translation instead.

Roy Batty Nothing wrong with that, I loved it on PSP. I can say the motion blur is a little annoying, but the subtitles haven't bothered me at all. The PSP ver is also going to be the cheapest option too. Either way, you're likely to have a good time with it.

I've always thought of Lost Odyssey as my FF XII. It was like Sakaguchi was the heart and soul of the series, and when he left Square, he took the real FF essence with him. This one looks like something I'll have to check out as well though.

See I've always been a huge fan of FFXII on all fronts but that's probably because I am such a fan of Yasumi Matsuno (who also worked on FF Tactics and Vagrant Story) approach to writing characters who are torn apart by a conflict which is clearly far bigger than they are. One day I'll do a video about how I think FFXII's story should be viewed as but today is not that day.

I kind of dismissed this game when I first saw it, the characters while not "pallet swaps" visually looked very bland because of their themed outfits, and I've never really been a huge fan of the over the shoulder hybrid action RPGs Square has been trying out. But if this game gets ported to the Vita and released in the US I might play it. Seeing more of the game has made it grow on me a bit, and the fact there's an actual overworld/world map is something I desperately miss from RPGs.

Bought it yesterday 2 days in its ok but seems outdated even Skyrim seems to be more futuristic than this they went back to the final fantasy 8/ Xenogears world map from 1988/ 93 to many cut scenes and to many people, I thought we could make or develop our own personal chocobo but it's just farming them I'm not impressed. and this was nothing like FF 11 , this is worse.. no one thought this through its like playing a bad cartoon.. $100 wasted. and I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy but not this to much old style crap..

Level 50 and it still sucks... l'm about to take it back to Gamestop it's that bad the world map is just horrible.. l'm waiting on FF15 - FF zero is killing me.... your better off playing Warframe and upgrading that with the 100 bucks they rob you from. my brother is a bigger FF fan than me and he wants to smash this with a hamner.. the beginning CS made it look awesome, then it began to be great for a school your like wow then it got so tacky... bad quests it's like playing a FF game from the 80's... just the worst FF game ever. Ugh, huge pet peeve area. I'm really getting tired of that stupid school uniform look. Forget any and all types of realism, they just look so stupid. The red capes are definitely the worst part. Yes, they're students, but that doesn't mean their COMBAT uniform will have them look like the Boy/Girl Scouts dressed for Halloween. As for the game itself, it looks alright. I could get into certain types of Action RPGs so long as it doesn't remind me of monster hunter.

Ha, this is about as far from Monster Hunter as action RPGs get. I can see where you're coming from with the uniforms, though.

Avalanche Reviews Ah, good. Monster Hunter isn't a bad game by any means, but I feel like I'm in a rut when I'm playing it. The uniform thing is definitely bothersome, but I can get over it if the game/story is good enough.

Siveon I really like Monster Hunter, but I can understand when people don't get into it. For some reason I hate MMORPGs, even though it's their just more fleshed out versions of Monster Hunter.

I saw the word L'cie and I cringed. 13 really scarred me. Otherwise this looks very interesting. Why wasn't this released here?

No joke, I had the same reaction, but these L'cie are just a background dressing in the plot. Leave it to square's "genius" business skills.
