@@dammyoyesanya4656 ​Honestly, I doubt Aerith will appear all that much now that she's dead. Nojima is the father of Cloti, and he's the head writer of the whole trilogy. He only decided to do these games on 1 condition: he must have total control of the script, which he does. Both games, "TOTP" and "2000 Gil" are very Cloti-oriented; the latter even reiterates (from the OG game) that Cloud's sole motivation to be a SOLDIER is Tifa. Plus, Nomura, Kitase and Toriyama have all stated in 3 separate interviews in the last few months that this trilogy is faithful to the OG storyline, just expanded upon, and it will still link up to AC, where Aerith and Zack are dead and together in death. Now that Aerith is dead, Tifa is the sole female lead and Part 3 will be heavy with Tifa and Cloti mandatory content, most notably because of the Lifestream event. Plus, don't forget that in the FF franchise, *only* canon couples have ever kissed on-screen. (And I am so sorry for the long comment, I just had a lot to say to hopefully restore some faith 👀)

With the way they did him in Remake 1, as in super socially awkward and trying his best to be too cool for school, I wouldn't worry about that. I am so happy that the team understood that Cloud is a mega dork that just happened to be super hot and a bad ass fighter. *Spoilers for the Remake from here* With the way Remake 1 ended I think there is a high likelihood Aerith will survive and maybe even kill off another character in her stead, with changing destiny being a big theme and all that. My takeaway is that the Sephiroth who we fight at the end has either time traveled via the lifestream or is just someone who knows what is "destined" to happen and he'll probably realize that the reason Cloud defeated him was almost all because of Tifa, bringing Cloud back from the brink and breaking Seph's control (and you know, with the way this Seph is all obsessed with Cloud for beating him, getting his D is probably salt to the wound for Seph), although I doubt they will actually go ahead and kill Tifa (at least not permanently, maybe as a shocker at the end of Remake 2 or something) I can imagine that moving forward they will change a lot of key plot points and by Remake 3 it'll be very different from the original( especially since they have the other remakes coming out so people who just want to experience the original story will probably get their fill as well, but probably with lower budget)

Regardless of how this scene is shown, I’m certain the implication remains the same. Tifa says “were you watching” then drops to the floor in embarrassment while everyone else scratches their heads awkwardly. It has to be s*x or something not far off to get that kind of reaction from Tifa and everyone else. In the friendzone version she instead says “were you listening” then remains standing but nervously taps her foot, with only Cloud scratching his head instead of all of them. Which to me implies just talking obviously, but still somewhat intimately/privately.

If they leave an open ending letting the fans decide who Cloud loves more, than the toxicity of Clerith and Cloti would never stop. Honestly, I feel bad for Tifa because while she's in love with cloud, he could be thinking of Aerith. (Like you mentioned in Advent Children, "memories or us") I felt that too. Tifa must be so sad on the inside. I just hope the producers do a good job at recreating this beautiful scene and make a better closure for Cloud and Tifa's relationship because they deserve each other. Knowing how SE likes to drag their feet. We probably won't see this scene until 2025. It's sad but it took them 10 years to make FF XV and it still wasn't finished. They need new leadership, who's to say the same voice actors will still be available when they finish the story.

So I noticed that they re-translated some of this dialogue. I assume this must be from one of the newer Digital releases, cus this isn't how the original game is worded during these scenes. That's a good thing though, as the rather messy translation has been patched up in this version and now lines that didn't make sense before, do.

It's due to Tifa's famous quote of "Words aren't the only way to tell what you're feeling" and even here we can see them cuddling early in the morning. There's way to much implications here towards that they did something together rather than: oh they just slept and Tifa is awkward of being seen because of regular sleep?

@@cyberpsychgreen yeah, at first they wanted to have them in the chocobo stables walking out while getting back dressed, but SE scrapped it in 1997 since it was still a rated T game. Now after 27 years and Tifa and Cloud almost kissing in Gongaga and get their real kiss on the Skywheel. SE has been changing a lot of things since it's not 1997 anymore, they made some great changes for 2020 remake series, and Under the Highwind will 100% happen. They just have to choose how they want to do it for the OG and New fans.
