So judging by the cutscenes, Zack's death was actually part of destiny. But with Cloud and co. taking down the Harbinger of Fate, and the whisperers not present anymore to make sure Zack dies and has Cloud carry on the legacy, he actually emerges victorious from that battle. Part 2 is gonna be a shocker for even Sephiroth when he sees Zack

That's what I figured after watching the CC Reunion ending. It makes sense, since it is still the prequel. Though, I'm sure when they get DLC for it, they will display the altered timeline.

There’s actually a theory going around that Sephiroth wanted Zack to survive so he tricked the party into killing the whispers to help Zack survive and create a butterfly effect to alter the timeline. There’s also another theory that is that the planet itself opted to save Zack’s life because it knew that the whispers would fall and he would be needed to help fix things after everything changes in the timeline. I personally think that we’re gonna have some parts of the story where we play as Zack as he in his party follows the footsteps of the main party kinda like how the main party is following Sephiroth’s footsteps for this part of the game. I think Zack’s party will be smaller and probably have Cissnei in it as her story is definitely not finished and maybe Roche as well because we know he’s searching for Cloud. I also think that the game will end in the northern crater when Sephiroth is gonna summon meteor and the final boss will either be a broken Cloud you fight as Zack or a boss against one of the weapons as you flee the area.

@@brotbrotsen1100 I’ve actually been thinking a lot about this and I think the Zack storyline will start in the sector 5 slums where Biggs and Jessie mistake him for Cloud (yeah Jessie is alive for me) where Zack asks them how they know Cloud and then they tell him what they know which might set Zack off on an adventure to follow the party. Early on in this adventure they encounter a hunter who Zack fights and this hunter is none other than Cissnei and she can then join the party. Roche would actually work because it would provide transport with bikes and since Jessie and Biggs have already met him it would be funny, they could also do a story arc where Zack teaches him SOLDIER honor and helps him grow as a character, so many good ideas man

@@_Archo It would be great, but I don't know if we can have Cloud n° 1 (the hero of remake, aka Zack's living legacy) and Zack in the same "dimension". There are two dimensions, if we follow the hint with Stamp, shinra's mascotte : the one where Zack died (where Cloud n° 1 become his legacy but forget about him) and the one where Zack lived (thanks to Cloud n° 1). Yes, Zack survives in one dimension, but it means that Cloud n° 2 (the one Zack is holding) is with him. I think we can't have two Cloud at the same time. So (it's only my opinion), Zack can't follow the main party, because he already has Cloud n° 2 with him and Cloud n° 1 is in another dimension. He can't leave his dimension for the one where Cloud n° 1 is without leaving Cloud n° 2 behind. I only hope the dimensions can, sometime, interact. I don't know if what I'm trying to say is understandable...

Important things from this video; 1) Zack survived and made it to Midgar possibly altering the current timeline or creating a branched timeline off the main. 2) Biggs survived, the fact he’s injured suggests he was battling at the plate like in the OG timeline. Wedge and Jessie might possibly have lived as well. 3) the ending of Cloud/Aeris passing by Cloud/Zack is symbolic of the timelines being swapped out. 4) Shinra was successful in dropping the plate on Sector 7 as well in this timeline showing Avalanche HQ destroyed. So, we might not see some of the characters like Tifa or Barrett….but they may have survived 5) If this is a continuation straight from Crisis Core, Tseng and the other Turks SHOULD be on Zacks side….with the Turks still looking for him and Tseng waiting to give Zack the big box of letters Aeris had written but kept “Classified”… 6) Cissnei was also looking for Zack, we might get to see her in part 2 (Hopefully) 7) One of those Shinra Soldiers really liked Potato Chips. Idk the significance of the chip bag yet lmao 🤣 8) My personal theory; Zack and Cloud team up as Mercenaries finding Aeries and the surviving Avalanche members and fighting off Shinra and possibly Sephiroth. Zack then finds out the timeline was altered but still decides to put the right one back together knowing he will die. THUS BREAKING OUR DAMN HEARTS AGAIN WATCHING HIM DIE A 2ND TIME 😭

This is just so AWESOME! I never did like the fact that Zack was originally killed just as he and Cloud were reaching Midgar, so I'm glad they made this remake a fate changing story and changed that. So I hope what happens next in that alternate world is if Zack and Cloud still join Avalanche they will somehow find a way to actually SAVE Sector 7 from being destroyed and the others too. I just hope Aerith's horrible fate will be changed also in part 2.

He did say he would voice Zack if Square Enix wanted to hire him, but the cast was all changed because Sony took over the casting and replaced the actors with their own :( He's certainly a fan favorite that will be missed.

I think many people do agree. Unfortuantely Sony took over casting along with marketing and decided to fire the cast and replace them with their actors from other Sony titles and Funimation projects, which is very typical of Sony. Rick Gomez did say he is willing to voice Zack again, but that all depends on Square Enix I guess. Either way, Rick Gomez is definiltly missed a long with other cast members from before.

Crisis Core was my first FF7 game, so the death of Zack was sad. Then, playing FF7 and seeing that no one (except Cloud if you go to the Shinra Mansion basement in disk 3) knows what happened to Zack or even asks, and Aerith has fully moved on and thinks that Zack just left for another girl, was even sadder. Zack surviving in the remake is a welcome surprise. Hopefully, he is living in the same timeline than Cloud in the remake so we get to see him play an active role in part 2 with Cloud against Sephiroth (it would be ironic if his survival, an unintended result of Sephiroth messing with Fate, ends up derailing Sephiroth's plan) and have closure with Aerith and Tifa (who wrongly blamed him along with Sephiroth of Nibelheim torching). And what would be the reaction of Sephiroth to see Zack, his former friend and link to his past life with Angel and Genesis, alive? Would that cause him to reconsider his actions? I am looking forward to Part 2. Also, Zack died and couldn't reunite with Aerith because he was slowed down by looking after Cloud. In the remake, Cloud repaid him without knowing it by changing History and cancelling his death.

Hear me out: Remember Sephiroth’s “seven seconds to the end” dialogue? Cloud, I think, used that seven seconds to save Zack - which, if that’s the case, might be the origin of FF7R’s newly-formed timeline split. Zack’s survival - along with him taking Cloud to Midgar - must, therefore, have occurred in the new timeline. As for the explosion? *Shrugs.*

Stamp’s got one of two things going on. Either: 1) He used to be a schnauzer, maybe a schnauzer mutt, and Shinra retconned him later on (note: the breed mentioned is simply an educated guess^). OR: 2) His sudden design-change, which Zack clearly doesn’t yet notice, marks his reality as the alternate one - same universe, different timeline. Personally, the latter’s making much more sense - especially considering the double Buster Sword situation - but we’ll see where Square takes it……… ^Based on 1:40.

I think this is not about alternate timeline. It’s more to parallel universe. There is this world or universe that zack is still alive after fighting shinra army, get cloud to a safe place, and return to midgar to meet aerith (and SE knows what happenned next, we dont, yet! i dont think aerith is dead when he opens the church door. If zack is alive, just to find out aerith is dead, SE should just left zack dead back there). This one, i bet zack is the main character. And theres another world/universe, where the ff7 og takes place. Where zack didnt survive againts shinra, cloud inherit the buster sword, thought that he is the first class soldier, join the avalanche n so on. This one ofcourse, cloud is the main character. Their world/universe, each one of them, i think will collide at some point. Thanks to sephiroth for whatever his game is. In the ff7 remake we will see this. Cant wait to see how cloud (in the ff7 og world) would response when he sees zack again. This parallel universe theory makes way more sense compared to the alternate timeline ones, for me.

If you think about it, this is them confirming Zack actually would have defeated Sephiroth back at Mt. Nibel. Ive been saying it for years. Plot armor at its finest that Cloud beat Sephiroth where Zack did not. Zack who could easily kill Cloud at that point in time. Zack, who killed a literal God and made light work of the two people closest to Sephiroth in strength besides himself. It was the fucking whispers. Fate. Plot armor confirmed. None of this shit would have happened if Zack defeated Sephiroth and talk no jutsu'ed him like he does. Shinra would have never been able to capture Zack.
