I'm impressed at how this attack merges both science and spirituality. I've always been a firm believer that science and spirituality complete each other and to see it in final fantasy is strangely refreshing. Interesting...

This Television Distortion Effect at the beginning of the summon is so genious, it shows Eden's superior Power, frightens a little bit and is cool. What more could they've done to make it that epic? Nothing, for it's perfect as it is

Ok here's what's happening. Eden is basically a souped up Garden with a powerful particle beam on its back. It warps space-time so that the enemy is directly in front of the particle beam. It then begins to fire the particle beam which in turn, transforms the entire planet into a giant particle cannon. It fires the enemy through space into a Quasar (a supermassive black hole found in the core of a galaxy) for massive damage.

Love the visuals on this one. Really awesome way of showing how Eden bends time and space. I don't think it's meant to be a digital world but like the "fabric" of space and it shoots the opponent through a wormhole into another part of the universe, right into another galaxy :D is there anything more over the top than this???

He could be fighting a elnoye which can be found in eshtar city after the invasion happens. They share the same charasteristics, only the colour that is different.

Eden is a mothership to the Propagators you fight on Ragnarok. I quess this because of the sole reason Ragnarok is out there on its own. They discovered the ship and climbed aboard it, while on, either tricked the propagators in the Ragnarok, or simply fell that way. Opon putting a pilot in Eden, the rest tried to go into Ragnarok. This didn't work out. They brought Eden to the hidden research facility. Used to power Ultima Weapon or military purpose...but too scared to turn on. Blame them?

I think that Eden represents the spirit of the earth. With the earth stopping and all might mean that it's focusing energy to expel the "dude" out of the planet and sending him to million light years away and to die and blow off some steam.

@journey2blackhole According to FFWiki, Supernova never was overkill, because it was a Gravity-based attack. You can be ready to die, that attack never will kill you. It just screws your entire team, but isn't used to kill you. Makes sense, because characters with about 6000-7000 HP never die, when the others have 9999, etc. And for me, Supernova is still the most crazy attack ever. It destroys our entire solar system just to let you NEAR DEATH? Who would do this?

because it is FF8. it's a gameshark cheat code that gives you a guardian frce BEFORE you are at the proper point in the game to obtain it. the boss btw is Elvoret in case you did not know.

@NewTypexvii I think actually what's happening is that Eden isn't exploding the other galaxy with the monster it's just transporting the monster to another galaxy that just happens to be having a supernova at that exact moment. However it seems even with the infinite nature of space a little bit rich that there's a supernova going on somewhere in the galaxy everytime you need your GF to kick some ass and chew some bubblegum. Still a great idea though!

in the end, of course the knights is the most powerful, because its the only summon ever causing more than one hit.. but Eden was the only ever existed to bypass the 9999 limit, which every summon is bound to.. even the knights.. and that makes Eden at least as interesting as the knights :)

Legendary fight to get this, one of the weapons ....Ultima or Omega I think. I can't remember which. The fight lasted over an hour and it was hard even with the invinci pots from the Cid card. Nearly all my summons were dead at the end of it, 2/3 characters dead several times. Great times.

It`s a theory I pondered, but it`s a no go. First off, the few times you see him I definitely notice purple skin. Elnoyle is black, which is pretty different from purple. Secondly, it`s very clearly the top of the communications tower, the one place that you fight El...purple guy. FF8 hands down has the BEST special effects of any of the series. Summons, magic, limits and everything were just so damn well done and intricate. FFXII excluded because its the best looking last-gen game ever. FFX had neat effects, but NOTHING and i mean NOTHING compares to the work they put into the visual effects on this game.

Yeah, but my point isn't that I'm shocked that he has Eden, it's because he has Eden, and he's using it on Elv-whatever when you fight elv-whatever on the comm tower for your field assignment on the first mission. Now as far as I can tell, you never fight that Elv-whatever ever again, so my question is, how did s/he get Eden on disc 1, when you shouldn't be allowed to get him till half-way through disc 3?
