There are a TON of Al bhed potions in the desert section before Home. Those help immensely on this fight because they heal and act like a remedy

What's odd is that I first listened to "Enemy Attack" LONG before seeing/hearing of the Evrae boss fight and what I imagined back then was a fight above the clouds with a dragon. Bizarre, huh?

Final Fantasy X was the first RPG I ever played. The game was really fun but when I got to Evrae, He kept killing me. I stayed up until 5am trying to kill him.I couldn't beat him. He was really freaking hard. Either that or I just suck really badly

i miss this game. so fucking much. Evrae i think was one of the hardest bosses at that point in the game, and i just remembered Exrae Altana! He was piss, 2 phoenix downs like a boss. I really want to play this game so much...

The Evrae, IMHO, has got to be the hardest boss to be fought in a Final Fantasy title. It took me 5 tries before I actually defeated it this morning.

This boss was fairly hard, but the makers of this game needs a huge punch to the face. After defeating this guy, there's no save point until you defeat all of Seymour's soldiers at the wedding reception. I went through all of that in one attempt, but that's pure bullshit on Squaresoft's (Square Enix) part.

I remember the first time I played this boss. It was too hard that I could not simply beat Evrae. I had to start the game ALL OVER AGAIN and level up more. And then I finally beat Evrae after 8 tries. I had to start over again cause I saved just before this boss and I didn't get back in the game to level up. Damn. But still... THIS BOSS FKIN PWNS! ONE OF MAH FAVS :D

A tip for anybody struggling with this boss. If you are struggling, it's probably time to do some grinding. Try to get Tidus Hastega, and Lulu the "-ga" spells. Other than that, take a good hour or so and just pumble the fiends on the airship.

Its a simple boss fight, equip all character with protection against petrification, keep him in the dark with smoke bombs or dark buster, use haste on everyone, when evra roars move the ship back to avoid poison breath, and just keep attacking and heal as needed.

one tip to that, if you still have the game, when you fight use traingle to skip turns with everyone else, and then have yuna to blast the rest of the bad guys that way yo' team grows equaly

@Basetrem Evrae will makes a movement (lift his head in air but nothing happens) which means his next attack will be poison breath, that's when to pull back. hard to pull off when Evrae uses Haste though (never been able to pull back in time when he has less than 10k HP :/)

I waws still pretty much a newbie to RPG games when I first played FFX when it came out, so I died plenty of times. Went back through it a couple of months ago and beat this thing on my first try.

@transamman69 Yeah, Evrae casts Haste on itself when you get it below 10K health. I got it down to 7.8K health and then got wiped out by Poison breath. There are a few items you will need if you want to do this the easy way. Note that Dark Matter is one of them.

Close. Yuna ends up in Bikanel like the rest of them, but when everyone wakes up, she's already been kidnapped by the Al Bhed. By the time you wind up in Home, the Guado have already attacked it to kidnap Yuna. Again.

@sharinganhiro lunar curtain + light curtain i think its protect+shell+hast and something else a great mix :) tho i like the one that doubles ur hp more (since htat ones my fav) i keep on forgetting the mix for that tho. think its grenade + potion ... but wings to discovery and door to tomorrow sound familliar too :P

The easiest way to kill this boss (wich I found out after dying 20 or so times) is to go away from with the airship. Then he´ll only use some weak attack and won´t use Breath or any other troublesome attack. Then when his health drops to around 10,000 he´ll cast haste on himself and come closer to you. Best bet is to dispel his haste and try to kill him as fast as possible since at that point you can´t move away, he´ll just come closer while at the same time damaging you.

At start try getting Powerbreak, Slow and Darkness on him. After it get Lulu, Tidus and Wakka into the group. Have wakka attack lulu cast spells and tidus use "cheer" so wakka's attacks do more damage. Put "stoic" or "comrade" to overdrive mode and save ur overdrives. After he puts haste on himself try to slow him as much as possible, and use all your overdrives. if your character are left with poison use AlBhedPotion to cure it. With powerbreak hes not that much of a challenge.. Good luck!!

Just so you noobs know, He is not Slow proof and you are able to use the ship's missiles (3 Times) if Cid gets an Extra turn on when you're far away.

guys you know what you need to do when you beat this boss? this will come in really handy train around the ship it really HELPS! seriously once you level up, look for every possible way to get your HP up. or anything try and learn a skill. okay you need to grind. a.k.a "train"! it helps. seriously it's helping me now. and i'm going to defeat this boss. with this help every one of you having problems will defeat it too. :) good luck

@transamman69 Don't worry, you can AP grind everybody on the ship right before you fight Evrae since there will be fiends on the ship. You'll need Hastega for Tidus, Lulu's Lv.3 Element spells for most damage to deal from her. Alot of Al-Bhed potions from Rikku, Increase Wakka's, Kimarhi's, and Auron's strength as well. This fight is very easy once you do so.

I honestly found Evrae to be easy, as long as you can anticipate its moves and keep the ship out until Evrae has only 12000Hp because then Evrea will use Swooping scythe every turn after losing 24000Hp.

Get to the back row, spam support spells until Cid uses up all his missiles, then go back in and pwn the thing.

I did use Rikku's "Use" ability and it still wasn't in there. It's very strange. Unfortunately for me, loading an old save didn't fix the problem so I guess I'm gonna start over and see if that works. Crossing my fingers.

I've fought this boss 3 times and I found it to be relatively easy all 3 times. My party's not even overleveled. I've always wondered why other people find it so difficult.

@dan333onlyhalfevil actually don't worry about that i killed him like two days ago now lol just keep hitting him u just need to train more and make sure to use overdrives till his health gets low i suggest getting tidus or maybe others to get stronger but tidus is the only one stronger in my party so he could propably do 3999 damage or so

Had this game for a long time and still cannot get past this boss. Came really close a couple of times, but that dang Haste+Poison combination always kills me. Cid can't move the ship fast enough. Sigh. Can't even use all my Al Bhed potions because they won't show up in my inventory during battle. So many issues. -_-

@dan333onlyhalfevil well since i killed that dragon guy i mixed with riku as he got to his low health but then all of my two were dead which were auron and tidus so i had to switch with wakka because of that rikku was about to die so until then he blew out poison into me which kind of leads me 16HP but then luckily i blew out Dark Buster attack which was pretty much the only strongest attack i could do to fuck him up

Cardboardlegend... you are thinking about Evrea Altana, who is the Zombie version of Evrea. This is the first battle, and he is NOT undead, so an X-potion won't kill him. -.-

I beat him sooo easily, he only attacked me twice-a hit and stone gaze, but every time I beat him, my screen turns black and doesn't come back! I've tried 5 times now and it's getting frustrating! I DO use hastega every time at the start; is it possible that that's what's making it glitch? ...errr so disappointed... :(
