That's a valid analogy. It was fun watching how Rinoa gradually softened him up throughout the story (leading up to that epic hugging FMV; love that part). I especially liked the part where he and Rinoa were in the Ragnarok, and he kept telling her to "take her seat" because he was so flustered. XD Dissidia's breadth is naturally subpar. It's there mainly for aesthetic purposes, to try and color the characters and their personalities in a fairly large compilation. It's just good fun overall. :)

Yep, I know. I enjoy the game (Dissidia), just wasn't sure if you were entirely basing Squall's personality off what you saw in Dissidia or not. And I just replayed FF8 about a month ago and those scenes nearly killed me with their cuteness again. He becomes totally in love with her...it's so cute. Right after that FMV she pulls away and he forcibly pulls her back into a hug

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm a huge Squall Leonhart fan, mostly because of the awesome inclusion of him in Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy for the PSP. It was just fun to be able to play as Squall in a more action-oriented setting than in a turn-based setting (FF8, FFX) or "Full on Active Time Battle" setting (FFX-2, FF13/13-2). I really did enjoy FF8, and I loved the characterization in it. There was a heavy air of colloquialism present, and for me that's a prime mover in a great RPG. :)

in my opinion, hes supposed to be easy. if u noticed in the dialogue, tidus and gang just dont take him as seriously as they use to compared to maybe seymour in bevelle. i think that hints that this will be more simple of a fight.

Not sure what you mean. FFVIII was basically a coming of age story mixed up with a love story. FFX was about things on a much grander scale. I think both characters fit well for their games.

He was a 'weak' character in that he mainly just served as a placeholder for the player, but the same could be said of FF1's (honestly non-existant) "Warrior of Light," FF2's "Firion," and FF3's "Onion Knight," though Firion had the most individuality in this case. I think it's fun to have a character that only serves as a persona placeholder for the player. The FFTA "Ivalice" universe was always led on by characters who were essentially "anons." But that makes way for your own imagination. :)

I Beated Seymour Omnis at the first try but he was quite hard at the start of the battle. Four "ga" spells in a row hurt a lot. I didn't even had Flare or Holy (Low leveled). I used Armor Break, Mental Break, Hastega ans Shell after a while... And it became very easy ! Then Anima Used Oblivion for 16,000 less in his HP... Yuna used "ga" elemental spells and he was dead very quickly. But that was my second final fantasy game, so I think that you can forgive me for finding him a little hard.

If you got Anima at this point. Seymour will say when Anima is summoned: You oppose me as well? So be it. And I do suggest getting Anima so she can provide a higher Overkill percentage on him. After you get everyone involved with the battle of course.

Also, FF12's story was on an even larger scale than FFX's story. It may not have centered [mainly] around a huge subject like religious pilgrimage and a massively powerful, world-destroying entity, but all of those elements were in fact a part of it. To have made the story center mainly around Vaan would have been a detriment to the overall presentation of the game's world setting and it's most significant events and backhistory. The only difference between FF12 and Skyrim is depth of canon. :)

@bobmcbob49 I first beat the game, and then started collecting the ultimate weapons and all. Never had any trouble without them. Besides, you can customise weapons and armor to your needs so you should be able to tackle any boss with the right equipment. The only thing I ever got the ultimate weapons for was the Break Damage Limit (Also to activate them for the sake of my aeons ofcourse).

LOL I remember the first Time I fought Seymour Omnis he kicked my ass! Mainly because I was not anticipating that he could actually cast spells four time in a row and I had no idea what the wheels behind him meant. But after I figured it out he was easy!

With the right set up, this fight is a joke: - Yuna = Nul Spells to minimize magic damage; heal if needed - Tidus = Hastega, then spam Quick Hit - Auron = Armour Break, then spam Quick hit (or attack)

I like him because they didn't feel the need to overly inflate his character with a whole slew of "insta-cool" nonsense ("Fus Ro Dah," anyone? Ha.), and that he was a character who ultimately drew the PLAYER further into the game instead of only his "oh-so-important" SELF (Squall, Lightning, not Vaan or Zidane since their characters only added to the breadth of their thriving world settings. And Zidane for the fucking win, seriously.

X was my first FF... i always used to think that X was the sequel of the previous ones... so IX was about Braska's pilgrimage, VI for example was maybe about Jecht fighting against something in Zanarkand and I was maybe about Yu Yevon doing stuff... now i laugh at that, it was fun though, thinking that.

Hm....in the german version of Final Fantasy X he's called "Seymor Ultima" (Seymour without "u"). Both names are good. But he could look cooler. Not only like a ghost.

I've beaten FF8 more than once; probably 5 full playthroughs back when it was hugely popular. Some of the moments are lost on me, but I remember many of them, like when Laguna was purposefully trying to limp-walk around Raine to get attention, or when he was playing as a knight in a movie with a REAL red dragon! XD Or scary parts like when all those monsters were "shot" from the moon at the planet, or the instant death FMV of Balamb Garden getting blown up by Galbadia Garden. O_O Good times.
