You can visit O'Waka's and Wantz's sister actually. The first time you visit the Thunder Plains, if you choose to rest in the Travel Agency after Rikku's presistance. As soon as you exit the place, Wantz will come and quickly snap a picture of the group before running off. Despite the direction he ran, if you go back to Guadosalam, you'll find Waltz in the Farplane talking to his sister's spirit as he shows her the picture he took of Yuna

Personally, 10 has my favorite battle system of any FF. I love being able to see where my party stands and how different attacks and spells will change attack order in the right column. It felt very tactical and allowed using faster characters with First Strike to be immediately swapped for slower, heavy hitters if you needed a big damage rush early on. Great system, would love to see it come back.
@DonPrecedens
@DonPrecedens 2 жыл бұрын
Problem with this system is that later in the game when you have ultimate weapons and sphere grid is completed, CTB becomes redundand, and fight with bosses more or less relies on counter-attacks and auto-attacks since even Penance has a turn every 10-15 slots. IMHO CTB is too generous to the player but FFX is known for being quite easy game.
@ericofire
@ericofire 2 жыл бұрын
@@DonPrecedens i think you could honestly just simplify it down to the fact it makes the game too easy at any stage of the game. it gives more potential for perfect play, and knowing you'll play a fight perfectly several turns ahead. It's the same problem legend of dragoon had, but amplified by knowing exactly what the turn order is. you could make an argument for accessibility, but it honestly could have been tuned better. its a stat check game, so it's not like it would have been a big ask to have 2 difficulty settings either.

It's my favorite battle system in FF too.
@victoriousf.i.g.3311
@victoriousf.i.g.3311 2 жыл бұрын
@@ericofire While it does display turn order, it doesn't take into account enemy moves that delay player attacks or status ailments that slow/freeze the player. It shows you the turn order in a perfect world but that's it; unless you can perfectly anticipate the enemy's AI, CTB is just a reference sheet. That being said, FFX is a pretty easy FF, for sure, and the CTB doesn't make it any harder. "Perfect play" though? Nah.
@RedPanther2k
@RedPanther2k 2 жыл бұрын
Its also my favorite system by far. I just can't get anything out of those action based button mashing stressing systems. I really adored the tacticality of this system. Sometimes you really had to stop for a few seconds and think about your next moves in order not to get crushed by a bosses possible powerfull attack. Also loved the mathematical effect you could quite clearly see when progressing on the sphere grid. The only other battle system i really liked was the one from 12. But this game had no relevant story at all which was really sad. The setting was great and the world and characters too. But the story just had no depth at all. It is really sad how the franchise is turning out. I loved every (offline) game from 7 to 12 but from this point on I just couldn't bring myself to enjoying the following games. Never even touched 15 for that reason. I am not sure about 7s remake yet. Haven't played it and the story is obviously great, but again the battle system just looks way to stressfull to be enjoyable.

This is why Seymour is a fantastic antagonist. He is truly the opposite of Yuna. Both being summoner half-breed children of high-profile fathers. Seymour was sent to Baaj, a cold, dark, desolate temple and grows up alone. Yuna is taken to Besaid, it's total opposite, and is guided by friends and the town.

This is totally one of the reasons I bought and intend to play Cris Tales. While it's been reported that it's not very mechanically consistent, it apparently draws on a lot of cultural and aesthetic elements from Colombian culture-being a Columbian made game, and all. And I'm so fucking here for that. We've gotten a ton of of cross cultural pollination between Japan, the US, and western Europe through games. But there is a wealth of other cultures making games, and I want to experience what they have to teach and say too.

I always tear up when Tidus tells Jecht "I hate you" in person. He means "I love you", he understands his father much better, he knows it was really his mother that was absentee. Sure, Jecht wasn't perfect as a celebrity dad, but he was the one pushing Tidus' mother to take care of Tidus when she preferred to ignore her child. So much emotion was communicated in that one line, that Tidus wanted to see his dad one more time, if only to say "I hate you", even if the words didn't carry their objective meaning anymore. Fantastic game.

FFX is still by far the most well rounded FF game. I'm pretty sure it's because they put so much thought into every aspect. It's sad to think we're unlikely to see this level of effort put into everything in future FF's, simply because the scale demanded of each game is too vast to feasably put that much attention into each detail.

If they could manage to pull off a FFXIII that wasn't linear or a good mix of things like FFXV, more people would be back into it. The last fact about the writing on the Baaj temple floor was awesome. FF X was my first Final Fantasy and I even completed the sphere grid, including deleting all the +1 to +3 stat upgrade fields with clear spheres and replacing them with +4 stat fields, with every character. I had the official guide book and tried to do everything in this game, but I had no clue about the signs on the Baaj temple floor and what they meant. I just love this game. I own it on ps2, have the collectors edition of the HD remake with the artbook for ps3, and the version for ps vita. Ive finished all three copies and constantly replay them! I want to own a copy for every console its been released on. If any game can be considered “timeless” this would have to be the one.

Same! I have it for every platform including PC. I bought the switch version for my wife, but I’m still planning on getting the Japanese import, since it comes with X2 physically.

I had played 120+ hours of this game upon its original release on PS2. I would say I had completed at least 95% of the game, including capturing all of the monsters, defeating Penance and all of the Dark Aeons. I never dodged 200 lightning strikes or maxed out the sphere grid for all of the characters, but apart from those two things, there wasn’t much that I didn’t complete, yet I did not know any of the things mentioned in this video. Thank you for providing this insightful view of this wonderful game

I find it weird that O'aka and Wantz want to aid Yuna I whatever way they can, maybe because she reminds them of their sister, but then doesn't even give a discount before fighting Evrae. He just believes you will win and save everyone on the ship. What great support.

Now that Final Fantasy X is now remastered for both PS3, PS4 and hopefully someday a PS5 version, I was hoping Square would utilize the online feature that was originally for the game. From what I've heard, the online feature was going to allow players to trade and share items from each other. Potions, Phenix Downs, and even Spheres for your Grid. If you were missing an item or if you needed more, you could use the online feature to trade and ask people online for items. That would be cool. Believe it or not, and for most of you would doesn't know this, but Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns, ACTUALLY HAS THIS FEATURE IN THE GAME! No joke. Long story short, if you speak with a random NPC (with the online feature on), you'll see a NPC with a PSN username above their heads. Meaning a player is sharing an item they found and is leaving it for another player to use, if they need it. It was a nice addition. And to top it off, "I've heard" in the FFX online mode, not only you could trade items, but speak with the other players as well too. I don't know how much this is true, but the online feature for FFX should make a comeback. Now that we're living in a day of age where online gaming is permanent. I won't put money on it, but it would be nice to see.

One small detail that few people tend to know about FFX is that although most Blitzball techniques are able to be techcopied, “anti-drain” appears to not be possible to techcopy. The A.I. will not equip it unless manipulated to do so by the player equipping it to a blitzball player and releasing them, will only leave it equipped for the first half of a match, and it doesn’t seem to share a techcopy window with the other “anti-skills,” and doesn’t seem to have a window at all, not providing even a sound queue to confirm a player inputted a techcopy. It’s especially curious why this oversight is left in all versions of the game, including the HD remaster, as it is a key technique for a good number of players

Just when you think you know almost everything there is to know, there's always more being discovered or brought to light. This game really makes you appreciate every little detail that was put into it, even decades later. That is one of the many reasons why this is still my favorite game to this day.

I was always under the impression that Seymour didn't fail his pilgrimage but that he decided not to face sin with his final aeon. He wanted to become someones aeon so that he could in turn become sin. I have no idea if this is accurate but wouldn't it be wild if he used Anima to kill his father. Sick.
