Here's the 2nd battle against the Dark Magus Sisters. This time I fight them the way I believe they should be battled, all 3 at once :)

that magus sisters battle had me on the edge of my seat. haven't seen you "struggle" like that the entire playthrough lol. side note, the way to edited the end so that when shiva snaps her fingers, and the screen shatters, that was seamlessly done.

you should write a book about the strategies of final fantasy 10. you are so good at explaining this game. it would just be cool to have a reference guide with every fight/boss strategy in the palm of your hand

Thanks, as they say, all good things must come to an end. I am getting seriously fatigued from this series, it has been over 2 months of non-stop work to upload it all. Since this commentary playthrough is the last FFX content I will ever put on the channel I wanted to end it in the best way possible and doing this game justice both by playing through the story and all of these sidequests :)

I don't really want the Final Fantasy X videos to end, but I am excited for new content :3 Also, it was interesting to see all the Dark Aeons. I have never gone against them because I did not have the armor/weapons to do so.

For anyone interested, I found if you have at least one person with break damage limit and magic booster (I also added magic + 20%) on a weapon and all your guys with 255 magic, you can kill them without having to block more than the first delta attack by double casting ultima with everyone. This is how I got around not having enough luck to hit consistently, you can just have 1 person start it then chain it with copycat to save mp

I'm a bit late to the party, but I just managed to defeat this boss today, revisiting the game after not playing it for maybe 10 years... I had *no idea* you could even escape and fight them one at a time before watching! I will admit, I did cheese all three of them one after another with Zanmato, but fuck it - a win is a win and I'll take what I can get.

Doing my first replay since it was released on PS2! I'm at this point after 150 hours with max stats, bar Luck (110)... gonna take on Penance soon, but I farmed Dark Yojimbo so have armours with Ribbon + BHPL (Auto-Protect + Auto-Haste). Can I still use this armour setup?

After seeing all these Dark Aeons, why didn't Yevon just send these summoners to fight Sin?

Yevon the religious organization, I mean. The final aeon is nothing compared to the Dark Aeons (Valefor not withstanding)

felman87 Perhaps because in a world without Sin Yevon may lose its power and become obsolete. We all know how religion is generally portrayed in Final Fantasy games :) A more practical answer is that the Dark Aeons are effectively a completely non-canon DLC. They don't exist in the NA PS2 version so their presence is just for the extra battles. Having yevonites summon them makes it seem like it's related to the story but it really isn't. If we are getting into comparison of stats then most of the fiends the monster trainer created could easily defeat Sin too :P

dansg08 It would've been cool if they added a Dark Sin as an extra battle and make it the absolute strongest boss on the game to keep-up with the facts of the game with Sin being the strongest. Although I liked its intro, Penance design is kind of disappointing.

+felman87 "Any aeon that defeats sin, becomes sin in its place" to quote yunalesca. So the dark Aeons would kill sin, but not yu yevon inside, he would just absorb them and probably become even more powerful. The only reason your party kills sin, is they kill it from inside. Which these summoners of the dark aeons would never have been able to get inside. Let alone kill the aeon as it was absorbed, like yuna's was.

Burke down on status reels is a break attack. I know for certain it inflicts armor break but I am not sure if it does the other breks

Trogdor8freebird What do you mean by group? The Magus Sisters? Combined no, individual yes. If you mean Rikku, Wakka and Tidus the answer is yes for the story line and many of the other post game Battles.

That thing where a weak character gets stuck in the frontline is the worst thing ever. Happened to me against Seymour in Bevelle when they force you to start with Kimarhi. My Kimarhi wasn't leveled at all and I panicked. I got through it but I prolly could have looked up some nsg strats. Pretty sure I cheesed it with an Aeon overdrive.

What's wrong with break HP limit. I've watched all the dark aeon tutorials now and you mention not having it is an easier method or something of the like? Why is that?

Basically efficiency, since he knows exactly what to do in advance hp limit is just a luxury and not necessary to beat the super bosses.

I fought all three magus with yuna auron and rikku i spam flare on mindy by having yuna and rikku cast on her and i cast tornado everytime aurons overdrive gets full mindy died first the i summon anima and oblivion killed cindy later sandy is the only one standing it took 3 grand summon to overkill her

Dang.... this was a hard fight.... I died three times facing the sisters. Without Rikku and her mixing. I would have died. All of my characters are maxed HP and stats besides luck.

I know this video is old but I have a question, why don’t you just target Mindy (I think she has the least HP) if you’re using overdrives it’ll hit her regardless of her luck. Why Sandy tho? The regular attacks rarely connect anyway.

Attack reels doesn't hit 1. Blitz ace is a different story and you would most likely use slice n dice

I love the Magus Sisters. I wish the sisters, Anima, Omega and Yojimbo were included in the .movie. Can you do a remake of the movie and added Omega and the hidden Aeons? Just asking.

It was so long ago so I don't remember exactly how I did it but I defeated Dark Magus Sisters without increasing any of my character's luck stats (beyond what was available on the sphere grid to start with). I guess I must've had 255 on everything else and I know I was using bhp armour but I don't think I had ribbon for everyone, I can't remember if I had difficulty hitting them with physical attacks..... Maybe I just used overdrives and magic/aeons idk?

You can block the delta attack with Anima and Bahamut as well if you use Yuna as one of your main 3, well they still die to delta attack but can take anything other than that. Thank you for doing this I used your stats but Yuna over Rikku and was able to beat the Dark Aeons for the first time, including fight the 3 sisters at once by accident.

I don't like these optional fights. I sort of decided this after seeing the Dark Anima fight, but... the fact that mitigating death is required, and that character status basically just is binary "Are you dead or are you not" is dumb. It doesn't look like much fun to me at all, so I don't think I missed much looking at the post-game. The stats left me in awe, but the gameplay leaves something to be desired. It's like the Major Numerus fight, where it's basically just about either narrowly avoiding death, or mitigating it as much as possible, since he basically just drops 99999 damage bombs on party members at will.

After so many years of playing FFX i today discover that the sisters can hit you with a second Delta Attack!! I did not expect that.. the 3 sisters have to have their overdrive bars full at the same time on all 3 of them.. and bam! Game over 😭 It's not Easy for them to have the 3 bars full at the same time, It never happend to me untill today 🥲
