In Yuna's sphere, she says that Kimahri received the wishes of a man facing death...the wish to look after the daughter of Braska. Auron really is a true friend cause he devoted himself to look after Tidus and Yuna, the children of his two best friends.

i always cry at the end of FFX. im 31 and i still cry like a baby. this game makes you soooooo heavily invested and feels like you are actually in the game. when Yuna has to let him go... ahhh heart break... cant let her gooooo

The Auron of the past being much more rigid in his beliefs compared to his visibly more open present self was one of the big mysteries of his character, perhaps even moreso than how he is aware of Tidus' circumstances. The payoff really goes to show that your faith and values collapsing in on you can be devastating, but it can also set you free.

Man..... Final Fantasy 7 Will aways be my favourite, but 10 will always be the deepest. Everything from Tidus hating Jecht to learning the Spira's religion is an existential lie is amazing. Beautifully overwhelming. 10 might be the best Narratively speaking

I know this video is more about Auron, but I wanna say, I really like Jecht. He's an ass, sure, and he's not father of the year or anything, but out of the two parents Tidus had, Jecht was the one who paid attention to him and thought about him. Earlier in the game, Tidus explained that he started to resent Jecht for hogging all the attention from his mother, but while the mother wouldn't even look at Tidus, Jecht did and told the mother to go give him some attention. Even in that moment, Jecht thought about Tidus. Part me of wonders if Jecht knew, or at least had a feeling, that Tidus's mother was not going to be able to take care of him due to losing Jecht, and maybe that's why he asked Auron to look after Tidus, since the mother wasn't going to do it. I also love that in Jecht's spheres and in one of the memories where Jecht volunteers to become the final aeon, he talked about wanting to see his son become a blitzball star. So yeah, I loved that despite being an ass who has made his son cry on multiple occasions, he loved his son and always thought about him while the mother was quite neglectful of Tidus. As for Auron, I kinda wonder what his days of being Tidus's parental guardian were like. Like he already knew from Jecht that Tidus was into blitzball, so I wondered if Auron contributed in any way to building Tidus's passion for blitzball. Anyway, loved this game. Might play it again in the future.

I think they were still alive because Braska is standing there. I think they just already decided Jecht would be the final aeon so they already accepted he was gonna die. So hes talking in past tense cos he has accepted his fate.

Both Jecth and Tidus were dreams that got out of the dream Zanarkand. See it as a mini world running in parallel with Spira. When Jetch made his trip to train he got out of Zanarkand accidentally by getting in contact with Sin. That is how he met Auron and Braska. After Auron died he got inside the dream world when Sin was reborn to take care of Tidus and that is why Tidus knew him even before the beginning of the game.

Both Tidus and Jecht are dreams from Dream Zanarkand, which is the reason of why Sin exists and does what it does, it protects it from the outside world by keeping the latter in a primitive state regarding technology, and destroying any city that is larger than a settlement. The Fayth in mount Gagazet is what summons this Dream Zanarkand.

@@Pfizer980 A bit late but to further clarify Dream Zanarkand and everyone inside it (including Jecht and Tidus) are "dreams" in the same way summons and Sin are. They physically exist because basically they're being summoned by the Fayth dreaming. No time travel actually happened, Tidus and Auron both just hitched rides on Sin (due to Jecht's influence) between Dream Zanarkand and the rest of the world.

auron's appearance in itself is bad writing imo. Auron died when he was young, yet he's visibly much older here, and even if dead people still age, if I remember correctly the ffx booklet has auron at 35yrs old. thats still very young under normal circumstances, yet he looks like he's pushing 50.

Stress and combat situations tend to age your body, its not hard for soldiers to look in their 40s while in their 20s due to something severely traumatic. it's all in how one tends to express themselves, a cheerful individual will look his age or younger than the person that scowls or looks gloomy all the time. However, i think you have a point on this because that pertains to the living, not the dead.. though i would expect that he might have some ability to change his appearance.. or that since Tidus' Zanarkand is a dream made from the fayth and in essence is now similar to the Farplane but not, Auron was able to age as it seems to be an alternate dimension where human souls are created without the need of an individual corporeal shell (individual as in for every soul each needing an individual body to exist, Sin and Yu Yevon fill the requirement for the corporeal body to tether themselves to the material plane), but this is me throwing out possibilities for why such an annoying plot hole exists.

Unsent age, the guy who responded to you made a good point before rambling off into bullshit land. Unsent are dead, but have to deal with all the aspects of being alive, I don't see anyone complaining that when he dies in battle its a death and that would make him super dead.
