It's time for the next instalment in our Boss Guide series. This time we take on the Species Conquest in the Monster Arena. Some of these guys are genuinely tough, so I hope the video will help anyone struggling. Next up are the Original Creations (including Nemesis)!

Hey man, I love your FFX content. Quick question, you said in this video that you can make Final Fantasy X really easy. Is that post story? Or does that apply before the story ends. Ive reached Zanarkand and Ive found that Wakka, Auron and Tidus are my characters to make the game easy. Lulu, Rikku, Yuna and Khimari have all teetered off in power depite me investing the same amount of time into the characters. I was wondering if you could maybe make a guide on how to make FFX easy ASAP, or flat out break the games natural balance.

Little detail about Tanket, you absolutely do not want to let two characters be KO’d at once during the fight, because if only one remains, he enrages and attacks non-stop until the character dies, no chance of recovery. Just thought I’d mention that.

For the same reason you also don't want to summon any aeons except maybe the Magus Sisters - I broke the game once because I summoned Anima and with Protect and Regen, it kept attacking me and I couldn't move at all nor would Anima die although I really had hoped the Regen and/or Protect would have worn off eventually but they didn't even after about 20 mins of letting the game sit there lol

@@kbug456 This happens every time - When fighting most of the Arena Creations with Anima, I will cast Haste, then Regen, then Shell, then Protect usually then go to town and since it never wears off (any of those spells), it was actually in another walkthrough about that and I wondered why Tanket was doing that to me. Then the walkthrough telling me that said I need to use something with multiple characters in the party or else it would happen. In the beginning - especially in the beginning, my party is not strong enough to defend itself aginst it by themselves so needs an aeon. I'll do that for any of the Species Creations but for Fafnir, usually Magus Sisters are the only aeon that will survive him. But then I get the materials to add Auto-Protect to my armor to fight Kottos without too many Phoenix Downs needed.

equip gillionaire on a capture weapon before u start to catch every species! In the end, double gill for all the effort!

I bought the game just yesterday on ps4 and it's now downloading. Perfect timing for this video and I will probably rewatch your whole walkthrough again :) Don't know how many times I watched it though lol

Thinking back, I never had any trouble with anything in the arena except neslug and nemesis. Brute force seemed to do well. Then again, I did have custom break gear and a custom grid.

Flare can hit for 99999 against jumbo flan with magic booster.

But you need lulu I guess. And that Venus sigil is damn hard to get.

if I remember correctly, another guide I used to beat the arena advocated for just summoning Anima against Jumbo Flan and Pain spamming it.

im maybe late, but i played the original a lot, defeated deus and a few dark aeons and i got the remaster for christmas, and you can just use double cast ultima into mimic or lulus ultima overdrive to kill the flan and elemental, they cant reflect that because it is a all enemies spell and with a power of 90, its nearly twice as strong as flare, which has a power of 54, so it most likely does over 100k damage with double cast, so you need not that long, but tbh. i do the monster farm when everyones sphere grid is completed.

For jumbo flan I used lulu, yuna and tidus, then I used holy on my reflected character.

Love the intro because Auron = boss. Also Ironclad, Nega Elemental and Jumbo Flan are memorable fights. A good thing you never face them at the same time!

Random thought in bomb king: if you have armor with Fire Eater and a weapon with Magic Counter, couldn't you just hit it three times, thennhaste the bomb and slow yourself so it gets more turns that you then counter?

I just cannot fully power up Caladbolg, Onion Knight, or Spirit Lance. I am currently grinding the sphere grid with Rikku and Yuna. I had an old save on my ps2 where I beat every monster arena monster except Nemesis. I’m looking to make this new save (Xbox remaster) to accomplish what I’ve never done: kill Nemesis and the Dark Aeons. Your guides are absolutely going to be my references.

For Ironclad, send out Yojimbo. His evasion is so high, ironclad can never hit him, and you aren’t targeting Ironclad(you’re technically targetting Yojimbo with the Pay command) so he doesn’t do the undodgeable counter

Rikku has one of the best overdrive in the game: combine it with a weapon having tri overdrive, alchemy and break damage limit.

I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue i'm having with the species conquest. when I have to catch all the flans. The guide says i have to capture 3 of each of them but I've captured 5 of each of them and it's not creating the flan boss.

Very informative. Loved the game so much, maxed all my characters, rearranged my sphere grid, all the good stuff years ago. Finally got a ps4 and the hd remix, so my first time doing the EU version! I'm playing ffx remaster on PS5 and I have captured all monsters from every location. The problem is the species conquest is greyed out and says "unknown" when I've already captured every type of fiend. Is this a glitch and is there anything I can do to fix it?

You've to collect 10 of each fiend from every area including omega ruins and inside sin

27:00 Oh man I remember the first time I got to Jumbo Flan in the mid 2000s. I was so confused. Couldn't attack him, had auto reflect, could kill my characters fairly easily. BUT, I needed the Magic sphere! So I went back and raised my magic defense and took him on again. At the time, I didn't know about Anima and the Pain. So I did it the long way.... Doublecast Holy. For some reason, Holy did more damage than Flare. And ultima's animation took too long. Took me that entire night to get enough spheres to never do it again. But my goodness, I quit when I had to get fortune spheres just to get my chars luck to 255.

I'm farming this whole thing only now, but a very efficient way to farm Ironclad is to just max (255) your evasion beforehand (interesting anyways if you're into stat maxing like me). Once that is done, its counter won't EVER touch you (i must be close to the 200s of HP spheres on that boss, and i have yet to get touched by his counter with max evasion characters). Have fun farming away ;)

@@goroakechi5270 evasion is much quicker to farm tho. Obviously if you're going to statmax you're going to want to erase some of the evasion nodes, but it's still necessary to dodge some very precise attacks

I have seen One Eye completely glitch out with its auto regen before. During its turn as he's performing shockwave or black stare, he will heal for 3-7k hp, but 20 times in the space of three seconds. Truly bizzare. This has happened to me like five times, at lower levels completely negates the damage you just did the last few turns.

Juggernaut is also immune to magic - I don't get how that is possible but to use Flare, Ultima, Bio, etc. doesn't seem to do anything to him - It's been a while since I've fought him but I could have swore even Anima's Pain didn't work against him - If I summoned Anima, I had to just attack him regularly Also for Tanket - I would recommend people NOT use aeons unless it's the Magus Sisters - because one part of the AI is that if there's only one character alive yet it will keep doing his rush charge attack over and over and over until that character is dead too - and if you have like Anima with Protect and Regen on her, it seems to break the game then as she NEVER gets a move of her own when he's just doing his rush attack. Magus sisters are not just 1 character but 3 but unfortunately they just take the fun out of the battle for me as they can kill him pretty fast between Razzio, Passada, and Camiso and the many spells they do for many tens of thousands of damage. Suffice it to say I rarely use Delta Attack against any of the Area or Species creations lol

Jonah, maybe he did similar in his normal walkthrough but not 'this' video per se. I started watching the series with the Original Creations guide later on in this series because suffice it to say I have YET to beat Nemesis - I keep getting my arse handed to me. So I'm hoping his guide will help me beat him because if I can't beat Nemesis, How the hell do I expect to beat Penance with 2 million more HP than him :-O The Dark Aeons so far (I've done Valefor, Ifrit, Ixion, and Shiva, and am farming Yojimbo now) are pieces of cake compared to Nemesis lol
