With 2021 high budget TV the game is smooth af like if it's 60 FPS game i tried it on my new 65 inch LG oled it's insane how the TV completly fix the fluidity and the game looks like it's 60/80 fps for real i'm just blown away the game never looked better with PC 4K + Oled and motion pro on LG tv ! ( sorry for my english)

It still is and with updated graphics(god bless those who remade most textures, originals were just awful) it plays out like a charm. I'm totally hooked to it right now, often sit until 4-5 am and never notice how time flyes by when I play it. It's just a very beautiful game - storywise, designwise, characterwise and now it's even prettier. I love this fairy world of magic and technology, it gives me a very pleasant mood everutime I play it. Just beautiful, simply amazing. The only thing I can complain about in PC version is the lack of option to switch voice-over from english to japanese while keeping the interface and subtitles english. I know this option exists on consoles and that is kind of sad, because english voice-acting is not that great from time to time.

Same here, hated those new rounded gender mixed faces. Ps2 alongated, yuna is more feminin and tidus is more masculin. Now they all look kind of dumb, and those robotic eyes are terrible too.

They seemed driven to make everyone more and more bishounen in the remasters, and it only got more pronounced in the transition from PS3 to PS4. Unfortunately, I get Hope vibes from Tidus in this and Vanille vibes from Yuna. And those were two absurdly annoying characters from what was already a poor Final Fantasy game. 1:05 Not to mention that something about that shot screams "derp". From what I've seen, only Wakka was an actual improvement...just marginally.

It's an easy fix. Naxshe is the one working on breaking the cap that everybody keeps talking about. Kind of sad really, it was modded to run uncapped on PCSX2 years ago. Uncapping the FPS on the PC release is a joke and Naxshe's not the greatest modder around.

LOL the cutscenes are at most upscaled to 1080p and cropped for widescreen. In fact it is not only X but X-2, with extras, dual audio(english and japanese) for both, dual music, classic and the newer one, extra content, better textures maybe, still i would have guessed 20 gigs, 33 is too much.

People complaining about the 30 FPS issue don't seem to understand that back in the day, lots of things in games were hard coded to the frame rate. It would take quite a lot of programming to go back and fix that, and I am sure Squeenix doesn't want to spend that kind of money on a PS2 port.

I have the PS2 version but never really got into it, it seems like one of those games you have to put a lot of time into, but the Witcher 3, Dark Souls 3 and now Overwatch are already taking up all my time.

I bought the Steam version of Final Fantasy X and download the Untitled Project X mod. It's cool. Especially since the game can now be played with Japanese voice tracks

I had an issue where the game ran at about 15fps until I forced prefer maximum performance in the driver settings, that and when I chose 2160p to downscale from, it crashed the GPU drivers and required a reboot since it caused some funkyness with power state switching (the GPU's core was just stuck at 400mhz, which is weird). So it's by no means a perfect port, but as long as it's not crashing my display drivers and it's running with it set to maximum performance, it works great.

***** Last time I check the last call of duty SP barely hit 60 frames on consoles while majority of pc ran it flawlessly, the last Assassins creed [syndicate] ran flawelessly aswell at 60 frames on pc, unity however was even worse on consoles. Watch Dogs had a VRAM issue so while driving players would get lag spikes FROM 60 FRAMES while could be easily solved if you cap the framerate to the lagging threshold ie 50 - 45 frames for it to be stable, last time I checked it was capped at 30 for consoles, so how is that better on consoles. By the way all the games you mentioned so far currently runs best on Pc as their launch was due to sloppy optimization, yeah even Arkham Knight is the definitive version on the PC.

You want to see something great??? Take the ps2 version with the latest pcsx2 version play this game at 4k... and you will see how far the ps2 version goes with the emulation... I played the ps2 version on pcsx2 at 1080 with 8 times the ps2 resolution and OMG how this game is looking on the emulator...

People are wondering why others want 60fps? It's because it looks nicer and is far more enjoyable to look at. The speed of the action in the game or it being turn based makes absolutely no difference to that whatsoever, and saying that makes you look like you have no idea what you even talking about. There are also older games than that which have faster framerates and look far smoother in general, not sure why some people are so stuck in their 30fps comfort bubble...games in the 80's and 90's were playing at better rates than that. If you are happy with it, fair enough, but some people want to see it in 60fps or more, stop getting so upset and making out they are being elitist.

That's interesting that the PC version has the optional cheats like Final Fantasy VII's release did on PC and PS4. I wonder if they'll patch that in as an option for PS4? I think the PS3 remaster was good enough, but the one I decided to keep is the PS4 version which is even better than that. I think that having it capped at 30 fps is fine since the fps is consistent so you probably wouldn't notice it being 30 fps unless afterwards you played a game that runs at 60 fps.

Thanks for the video, it defenitively decided me to re-experience my first video game love on PC. It feels very odd, like bringing something very important, something you know as family on another machine that makes it look greater but without spoiling it's identity. I was afraid the port would change too many things but no, it's just enhancing it. FFX deserves it so much. I remember choosing it at the store a few months after receiving my PS2. Everyone at school said I made a bad choice because FFVII was actually the best of the series and the X was the worst. I didn't care and knew real magic existed with this one.

Personally i would like a mix of both old ps2 faces and new faces. I think the new faces look nicer but lack the expression the ps2 ones had while also looking really chubby at the same time. I think just having the upgraded software wouldve been a nice mix of the two. Faces wouldve stayed the same and been clearer

I think the way I'd enjoy a game like this the most, is running on something like the original nvidia shield. It's 16x as powerful as the ps2, so it should be able to run the game very well, while giving me the option to play the lengthy game comfortably.

Pc version on the last part looks less greenish, higher exposure(brightness on tvs), lower contrast, less sharpening. Looks better, although the rounded faces of all new versions are much worse.

i would be nice to see how does the one X version stack up to the ps4 pro vers. i know that for FF XII it's native 4K and 60 fps, but what dissapointing on this one, and now that i've played every vers. ( not PC ) is that the switch and Xbox one ports seems to be straight ps4 port with none of the PC add ons square enix putted like 2x , 5x times ect... things that are included in FF XII, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense... i just hope for a patch for cutscene to be skipable and the little PC built onto the game that SQ added being brought via an update to PS4, switch and xbox one vers.

The remaster is worse due to the way they changed the character models. Tidus looks less masculine due to smoothing out his entire facial model resulting in a lack of a defined jawline. Yuna and the other characters how a huge lack of facial animations the original had, this can mainly been seen in the Yunalesca prebattle cutscene where Yuna has no emotion in her face while speaking unlike the original.

This game was really awesome in its time, but I think most gamers have already played it, I mean it was like the Super Mario of PS2, you had to play it, just like Devil May Cry or MGS2 o maaaan those were the days. The intro in MGS2 still looks badass. Thing is, Square should re-release games like Crisis Core, games people haven´t played on pC ooops I forgot about emulators hahaha I said nothing.

Need to play this game on a ps4, anything else would be weird. Same as Mario on a Nintendo, or halo on an Xbox. Some games were just made to be played on certain systems. Square games will always feel most at home on a Sony system.

BTW, please help: I don't have the "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" option in my FFX.exe's properties window. I only have: -Run in 640x480 screen resolution -Disable fullscreen optimizations -Run this program as administrator ...and then a button for "Change high DPI settings" but the settings in that window are different and I am not sure how to configure them to be able to run the game at a higher resolution than my display's 1080p native. I would like to try running the game at 1440p or higher to see how it looks (and performs), but the game's settings don't go higher than 1920x1080 for me. Advice?

No major difference here, PS4 has darker colors but you can adjust that in console settings.

***** Not even close. From its politics heavy story to its much more grounded world and characters of an 200+ hour game makes it extremely strong as a game. People complain about the license board, but with such complaints I point towards the sphere grid. The combat system was pretty good too. You could program your characters via gambits and make them do what you'd normally tell them to do anyways, saving time so you have more better stuff you can focus on. And Sakimoto's soundtrack...Well, I love how well his music goes with politically charged plots. The lack of linearity was also refreshing. I loved XII.
