Downloaded and started playing again for the first time since PS2 release last year and put it down... jumped back in thanks to Bunnytails a few days ago, and did Hell Wyrm (Ultima was first and took her out yesterday). I do NOT remember the fight from almost 20 years ago, but i DO remember how long Fafnir and King Behemoth took (40 and 45 min respectively). I was NOT prepared for this bastard to have literally about *50 HEALTH BARS,* but my main squad here in Zodiac Age was good enough to take care of it with minor gambit adjustments over about half an hour. Absolutely insane.

What about the stages? If you leave the battle through the door you enter and not kill it when you come back below the map is the word stage and a num er. Each time you go in and out it reads stage1, 2, 3, and so on. What do these do? How do they affect the battle or what do they affect in general? Bear in mind im not playing zodiac age. Im playing the first release for ps12.

My party is at lv 60 right now, should I try fight this boss now? Should I grind more?

God, for pure LUCKY i won with lvl 50 for all members and with the help of reddas like a guest! This fight is intense as fuck!

I just did it at the end of the game (tying up loose ends and don't remember if I did this back in 06), and did not have Reddas, obviously. My team was 70-72, consisting of Basch as a Knight/Foebreaker, Fran as a Red Battlemage/Hunter, and Ashe as Time Battlemage/Uhlan. It was fairly straightforward, but got hairy at the end due to Reverse spam from the Dragon. One thing I noted was that you can land Oil at the beginning of the fight and it never comes off... so I set up Ashe with Gungnir (fire element spear) and set Fran's standard attack to Ardor for huge dmg (thanks to unlocking high White Magic on Basch and having him give everyone Faith for better heals and Ardors doing 25k each) I had just beaten Ultima last night, so I gave Basch the Excalibur for the first 33% of the fight, then switched him to a Golden Axe/Demon Shield. For extra blocking and absorbing the occasional Darkra. He was also decked out in Genji Armor for the rest of his slots for more counters and multi hits (even hitting 10x once), but the big thing is the Wyrm's special... it can hit party in range with "Stop," so I swapped everyone's accessories to Power Bracers to prevent it, and had Basch set to clear up Petrify from Stone Breath with Gold Needles (I had 99 of them). All in all not a bad fight, just very long, and of course as the HP bars tick down on it, he uses Reverse more and more... well, not real Reverse, but the ability that swaps your HP and MP, so Basch was basically in critical for maybe 5 full minutes of the fight.

Yeah, easy with Zodiac JS. I had Ashe nailing dudes in the Great Crystal for 12k on a crit with a Tula Crossbow and Long Bolts for slow. They made things more focused and restrictive as far as character options, but balance it pretty well with the power you can wield. I did this fight a few hours ago, and had Fran use Oil, then spammed Ardor with Faith for 25k per cast.

Well that was very bullshit. I har like 5 hp bars left on him and then he KO the rest of us in one attack. And 2 of us had 4k hp left. He gets so damn annoying near the end

He does. One of the adjustments I made to my gambits was to have Ashe and Fran make sure to cast Bubble on EVERYONE to be safe, and gave them both the ability to put Decoy on Basch. There are lots of smart ways to get around the BS, but you need a solid grasp of everything your gambits can do. Like if your tank can you can slap Reverse on them and have em NOT ATTACK, then heal your other two party members manually, or set them up to only heal themselves with Curaga when they get low. The system is hyper flexible, and I love it. Your tank can even be your main healer if you set it up that way.

I find many mistakes in games using American English. Gotton is one of them. I read it as got. Also Americans always seem to miss out the word 'and'. 'Go speak to so-and-so'. I prefer go and speak to so-and-so. Anyway thanks for your video. I forgot all about this key having picked it up some 130 hrs ago.

It's intentional, obviously. This game was going for a British Empire flavor of English... like lots of Americans feel a slight twinge when Brits say "we need to stop x happening," as opposed to our "we need to stop x FROM happening."
