There's another chest in Mosphoran Highwaste/Babbling Vale, near a woman, who you can talk to, looking on a watershrine...north from the teleport crystal; it's a one-time only chest and it's 100% Thief Cuffs. This can be done when you need to head for Jahara, land of the garif...in the original game, I used to get the Zodiac Spear at this point in the history, Maximillians, Demon Shield and loot for weapons/armor.

Tactics poaching was great too! Thanks for this concise guide. I've had some steals that have taken ages and this should help speed things up. Plus I mean, rarer steals means better loot. My vaan almost always be stealing

Agreed. There are games where I never used the steal ability. The developers are basically just wasting their time if they code a mechanic that nobody's gonna use. You gotta make it worthwhile for the players or else they're never gonna use the mechanic.

Each run in and out only took like 10 seconds and it still took me like 15 minutes to get this chest to spawn, rng hates me so much I'll be surprised if the cuffs even do anything for me but hey at least I got them lmao

1 thing of note about the Thief Cuffs: to be able to steal Great Trango (AKA Trango Tower) from Zodiark (non trial version), you HAVE to have the Thief Cuffs equipped, Without the Thief cuffs the Steal list is Serpentarius (c), High Arcana (u) and Megalixir (r) as steals With the Thief cuffs the steal List is as follows: Serpentarius (c), Megalixir (u) and Great Trango (r) The steal rates still apply, however so it is a 6% chance to get it (c) = Common steal (u)= Uncommon Steal (r)= Rare Steal

I got a third pair (actually it was the second one I got) during a boss fight. It was a plant like boss, I can't remember it's name, but there is three pairs. Non-trial as well, so happy hunting. :)

OneButton Dash Bracelet slightly improves loot from chests (only works if you open the chest with the character it is equipped on) but Cuffs improve your chance to steal rare items from monsters, personally I find the cuffs to be much more useful, especially when grinding loot for end game equipment

Storywise you are not that far off, but there might be a few hours of gameplay in between.

Switch players, this works. Just wear diamond armlet and zone in and out until the chest spawns. If you don’t get it keep going or reload auto save. It will appear 100% RNG for us is just massively unfair. Best of luck.

No. Maybe some low level armor is missable, but often at least one enemy will have it as a rare drop if you're a collector.

I think the treasure has 3 slots it can be, and the game checks each slot one at a time to see what you're gonna get. That's how stealing works at least.

80% common item, 30% uncommon item, 6% rare item. You can get all 3 items based on your luck /rng

Without cuffs I believe it works like this. Check for rare steal if fail... Check for uncommon steal success if fail... Check comon steal. If failed you get the message you were unable to steal from them. With cuffs it will still check all 3 but you can succeed at all of them if lucky.

Is that required? I didn’t have it at that time but got it right after by playing the first stage, which I should have done earlier. Does the diamond armlet need to be on an active party member or just anyone. Is the diamond armlet needed for this chest? I was thinking that and if I have to go through it again I will. I should see if there is anything else to do in that cave since I am level 40.

@@berto2174 nice! I saw the video on how to farm all this kind of stuff but I haven't gotten to it. I watched the first two videos (1-10 and 11-20 but have pretty much leveled out of everything there. I am level 40 and at this point I am just trying to beat before my microsoft game pass trial runs out in a few days and I am to Tyrant (right before the great crystal) but I'm not even getting half his health down before I wipe so I need to level some more as well as grind for gil (just got a couple cat ears) so I can buy all current level gear, just hoping that's my problem.

Crimson-Tone 3% to 6% is a 100% increase. so it "only" doubles your chance. incredible i know.
