I actually died to this boss two or three times because of Tetra/Gigaflare. If you don't have your eyes on Jet Bahamut throughout this fight, he can cast it without you even noticing. If you're not shifted to Sentinel by the time he casts it, you won't survive (and it's an unblockable cutscene move so you need to be fast).

Best boss in the game I really enjoyed the build up to this epic fight sequence. This is how a last boss just be. First time around I found it hard fighting this guy because I didn't understand the play fighting system. My two main characters was not even leveled up highly. I still enjoyed the hell out of it thow.

@Eriqzzzz I cleared most of the maps before going to the final episode, I really wouldn't suggest doing that because it doesn't leave much for you to do in the post-game play, but its up to you. If you do anything get all or most of the graviton cores for Hope in Academia 4XX so you can get either Noel or Serah's paradox weapon, which ever you choose the other will be available in Serpendepity for 100k or 10,000g.

Thanks for your tips. I DID, however, finish the boss off (finally!!!) yesterday, before I read your comment, but I appreciate it. I used a completely different set of paradigms, though. It seems there are quite a few different set-ups that work well, but the outcome of the fight (in my opinion) still comes down to a lot of luck and timing. If you get into a good (and fast) rhythm, it's possible to win. Now I'm playing Dark Souls! Suddenly I wish all bosses were like FF XIII-2's!

I think the best chance that I have with this fight is getting Noel and Serah to level 99 everything. He ended up using Exaflare which killed all of my characters instantly when they were all at full health, fully buffed, and I had a Sentinal currently in that paradigm when he used it to boost defense.

@drunklee52 You can get the Behemoth at Yaschas Massif 010 AF in the spotlight area right from the first time you get there, but if you try for one right away bring a maxed Pulse Knight (a SEN that the Feral Behemoth can hardly scratch) and attack it from a distance and whittle it's HP down until it dies. It'll take a while but it's worth it to get and level up a Behemoth ASAP. I don't know what the Medic monster he used was though. I don't use MED monsters, only COM, RAV, and SEN.

I like this game, but 13 was better. What I didn't like about 13-2 is that it's difficulty was super inconsistent. I was fighting just fine against the enemies before the end, but the first and second stage of that fight are just too hard for me. I need to level up, and decided to look here for help. I am not watching the video because I am not on stage 3 yet, but I did want to see what health to fight him at, and the fact that he has 5000 HP on each hero in this video blows my mind. Did they decide while making this game that it would be a good idea for the player to have to grind? I am at about 2500 HP and most of my roles are at about level 50-60. Why could I fight everything fine, but get roflstomped by the boss so hard?
@Sir.YeetusIII6 жыл бұрын
An hour or so of grinding should be enough, get your characters to 3000ish, noel will easily pass that though, he'll likely be in the 4000's, on Serah use equipment that raises max hp and on noel use equipment that raises offensive potential, buy the best weapons chocolina has to offer and go ham! :)

When I fought him I had Serah and Noel almost totally maxed out (5 of their 6 roles were all level 99, the last one was around lv 70), had a maxed Silver Chocobo (SEN), maxed Golden Chocobo (COM), and nearly maxed Albino Lobo (RAV) in my Paradigm Pack and I still had a bit of trouble with this fight. But I loved every minute of it. It was really fun. :D
@SpaceCattttt12 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I know all that. And I actually beat the final boss several weeks ago now. But since you brought it up, it would actually be good to be given 2 save options. That is to say, it would be very practical if the game let you choose between saving BEFORE a boss AND, if a boss battle is in several stages (as in FFXIII-2), also in between stages. That way you'd never have to start all over again, after you'd rage quit, but you'd also have the option to go back and level up some more.
@RemiusTheAwesome13 жыл бұрын
@KinevAsaic Finally, someone with a brain. Anyone who's played 13/13-2 and some of its more difficult bosses/marks would be extremely distraught if Auto-battle suddenly disappeared. Sometimes that extra speed is the difference between life or death, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the Medic/Sen roles. It also makes Syn/Sab easier to deal with sometimes too.
@3N3MYBOATSPOTTED13 жыл бұрын
@TheTyico its not about the hp its how you properly level up your characters (optimizing points in strength and magic). I beat this boss when noel was barely over 2000 like 2100 ish and serah was below 2000.

@rwaaarrrrr I remember my strategy was kinda basic, but it worked really well. I had three offensive paradigms (2 commandos and 1 ravager/ 3 ravagers/ 1 commando and two ravagers), two mixed ones (two commandos and one medic/ two ravagers and one medic) And a defensive one (two medics and one synergist). Doesn't sound so effective, but it was pretty easy. It could basically work in any situation.

Use ravager-based paradigms to build stagger (they build fastest, pref 2 rav 1 sent, 2 rav 1 med, or 2 rav 1 syn/sab) then use commando based to deal damage once they are in stagger (2 commando, 1 med, 2 commando, 1 sent, 2 commando 1 rav) prepare a sent/syn/sab or a med/syn/sab class as well for quick buss/debuffing and a sent/med/syn class for recovery (or med/med/sent)

@suzleber413 жыл бұрын
Well then again some people's choice of paradigms packs and sets might be the reason why they're struggling. My second time beating them I used my superpower monsters such as Lightning, Omega, and of course Bunkerbeast. I suggest if you're having a really hard time to come up with an all chocobo deck. Use the Blue, Green, and Purple chocobos. All I did was use the Ruthless paradigm followed by Relentless Assault and finished with Cerebrus, of course paying attention to health.
@billyjoesarangelo160812 жыл бұрын
WHOAA!!! 3 Bahamuts in 1 game! :))
@AvatarKira13 жыл бұрын
Fairly simple battle. Just use Tortoise when the count is at 1 and their ultimate attack will only do a few hundred dmg. Relentless assault --- tri disaster--- cerberus. Throw in some potions and wound potions and you're set. Some weaker parties may want mystic tower and others with a sentinel.
@937olter13 жыл бұрын
@BeccaInWinterland mhm. there are a few strategies. orphan took me about 1 min. if you wanna beat this guy, an average player would take around 10 mins. if u wanna beat him with five stars, u might wanna level up by grinding and start trying to improvise paradigms. if i explain it through, it'll just take up too much space and it'll bore you. pretty much the strategy is to attack jet bahamut is to barrage attacks and use sentinel to block its powerful moves. that's just my tip.
@redryder9013 жыл бұрын
This bossfight kinda took me back to the classic FFs for a second.
@SpoonyAzulpunkt12 жыл бұрын
I had Debris, Bunkerbeast and Yakshini in my paradigm pack, my characters were seriously underleveled and I had mediocre equipment. Having Tortoise in paradigm shifts seriously saves you from those nasty flare attacks, shift to Med Med Syn for healing and buffs, and continue attacking. Definitely a hard boss fight for not having your levels maxed.
@suzleber413 жыл бұрын
@Eriqzzzz I just meant that if they know they're not skilled or comfortable yet then you should be atleast 1000 hp higher than the book suggestion. Most of the suggested paradigm sets are based on some what well developed characters. For instance, if the deck they suggest doesn't involve 'Combat Clinic' then you should be strong enough to survive. I personaly use my own sets that I like. My suggestion if anyone isn't sure definitly have 'Ruthless' and 'Combat Clinic' available.

Hey, I have some questions; 1. What monster is that Gilgamesh? 2. Is it better than Twilight Odin? 3. Where can you get it?
@cupofjoe2k13 жыл бұрын
I found this fight is much easier with sen/sen/(higher hp monster) during the gigaflares and single dragon special attacks just have to switch them, they take sometime before they go when they are announced, so you have good amount of time to switch to defensive positions. Also having a Med/Med/__ after this heavy periods of damage as those. Key things to look for are the countdown to Gigaflare, Seed of Destruction(the eggs), Judgement Blade, Megiddo Flame, Light Eruption, and Dying Sun.
@merlin2k613 жыл бұрын
Had this fight nailed in just a few attempts when I realised I had a countdown to pay attention to. Easier than orphan in some ways as you didn't have to have a certain accessory equipped to avoid failure.

@jakeisdadambest honestly you should use a bunkerbeast probably the best sential in the game. there is also a good synergist in the vile peaks area Yitashi his feral link abillity heals you can gives you every staus increase. he's very useful in this fight.

@Eriqzzzz When I first fought the Proto Behmoth my party was maxed out on the Crystengeon points but I had about 130 fragments, which made Noel and Serah's weapons Odinblade and Odinbolt insanley strong. @3N3MYBOATSPOTTED I would say XII and XIII were pretty difficult. All the others (from VII onwards, anyway) have been pretty easy. I can't quite recall VI, and I have yet to play the first five. I'm not gonna comment on whether this game is quality RPG material or not,but what I will say is,this is my first FF,I LOOOVED it,and the gameplay was familiar too me as it reminded me of Pokémon on NDS,with the move selction and the monster catching,but was discrete enough that I didn't get thorugh the game thinking "this is Pokémon on Xbox".I loved it and now I'm on episode 4 for the second time round,and I'm planning to get XIII after that as well.

Actually I've seen other videos where they only got like 2 or 3 stars. And what do you mean by blue monster? The Medic one? Cause it looked like they both had blue auras around them. I don't know what the Medic is but the Commando is a Behemoth.
@gloriouspurpose_11 жыл бұрын
Make all 3 sentinel :) It wouldn't hurt to have a SAB/SAB/SEN (cross) setup too. You won't even really need a medic tbh 1 med will do Also don't try to kill one minion then kill the next minion, weaken one to the red zone. Then kill the other, it will make it harder for Jet to re-summon them :)
