Personally I find his transformation from human to part crystal to be quite ugly.. Though he looked quite cool when he gained wings.. Though something I would have wanted was for Cid to, Him being a L'Cie and all, to, when starting to take a big of damage, summon his own Eidolon to fight with him, and then when you kill either him or his eidolon, they instead fuse together, entering their drive mode for an epic final stage. Just imagine. He could have had some iconic summon as his Eidolon. (Maybe Diabolo, with emphasis of Cid being a "dark messenger" to the party).

Dahxelb the only missed opportunity was the Eidolon imo. But then again, he didnt really go through any struggles that forced an Eidolon to appear before him unlike the main characters, he was complicit enough up till now.

Level up your characters (whichever one's you choose) to their max before this battle and it's fairly easy. I went with Lightning (Ravager-Medic), Vanille (Saboteur-Ravager-Medic), and Fang (Sentinel, Commando). j I used Vanille instead of Hope for two reasons... first, she's got a higher HP stat. Second, with her Belladonna Wand equiped and leveled up she's a better Saboteur than Hope is a Synergist although not as good of a medic. I just spammed Potions and kept my paradigm on Relentless Assault most of the time with a switch here and there to one with Vanille as a Medic and/or Saboteur.

The goddes etro manipulated you in the game all the journey she changed the focus when she saw serah's grief of her given mission about destroying coccon. The God Pulse wanted to destroy coccon but etro changed it all. She always had pitty for mortals and helped them as much as she could.

I like how Cid goes into a monolog about the history of the world but what's shown on screen is just clips from cutscenes of the story up until that point in the game. Toriyama is so awful at his job.

Definitely gotta buff up your characters ten fold to be him.. definitely up there in the as a the most difficult to beat aside from Weigraf (ff tactics), Caius(ff xiii-2 and lightning returns), and maybe Ardyn (FFXV)

I like how you edited the video when Raines used his Seraphic Ray, making the screen go white, so you can cut to you suddenly summoning Shiva (even though last input you selected was Mediguard). Crazy how Raines suddenly has significantly less health and a full stagger meter. Almost makes it seem like this fight isn't boring, tedious, and poorly designed. Editing is fun! :D

Dear god, this guy was fricken hard, He kept doing his Transformation and killing the leader (which was mostly Lightning or Fang, sometimes Snow) when i finally killed him I was like "THANK GOD". Cid was actually easier than, [dear god i hate having to say his name] Bartandelus (or however the hell you spell it)

If the l'Cie do nothing, they will become Cie'th and the Fal'Cie will just find more humans to become l'Cie until they find ones willing to destroy everything. Whose to say the l'Cie in this journey were even the first? The Fal'Cie are no more righteous than the humans who forgot.

@linkpie23 That's the beauty of this game.. the battles are varied depending on the two or three main characters you are controlling, your crystarium(experience), how you choose to upgrade each character, setting up multiple sources of paradigms, and so much more. FFXIII proves that they have crafted the top class RPG battle system to date. ..FXXIIIvs anybody?

Okay, so I totally jipped myself out of part of the experience of this fight. I ended up stagger locking him with Relentless Assault and Tri-Disaster before he transformed :/ Very cool fight though.

it took me 21 minutes to kill this boss...its not that i was underpowered its just that staggering him when your party is choking up lungs is kinda hard to do...

I beat this guy first time,no shrouds or Eidolons.I watched Jack and Geoff from Rooster Teeth doing this and they say it's so annoying and hard,and they got for stars and had to use Shroud buffs and Odin,and got 4 stars,yet I do it with NO Shrouds OR Eidolons and get 5 stars.And I don't game for a living (I'd love to twhen i'm out of school,but an author is my calling).Seriously,I fail to fathom that. Anyway,it was nice to see my fave BlazBlue charcter voicing in another game.Nice finish btw.

Cid is hard but he can be beaten easily if you use ageisol and foristol before the battle starts

That's what I did I farmed shrouds at the beginning of the game and I just used a Fortisol and an aegisol to kill him. it was a bit harder for me because hope is my favorite character and I had him as my leader and I'm not afraid to acknowledge that hope is not strong as lightning and fang and snow but I don't care the whole point of having a favorite character is knowing how to use them and hope is very useful depending on how you level them up and which rose you decide to utilize if you play your cards right hope can actually be a very strong force to be reckoned with.
