I think a lot of people missunderstand Metion. Remember that bit where she thinks she likes honeyed apples even tho she can't eat and never tasted them? Just because Hermes liked them? She is so sensitive to others emotions that she thinks its her own, genuinely confuses them for her own. Now imagine what would that do to her if she met people who were nihilistic, depressed, who tho there is no reason in living, that its only suffering wishing they weren't born etc... and she absorbed all of those feelings and tho of them as her own feelings? She didn't come to logical conclusion to end the life. its Hermes fault in failing to figure out what would happen if she met only negative ones. That and him giving her duty to find and answer to living were the cause of it.

Not only the nihilistic feelings of others, but ultimately her own despair at not being able to give Hermes the answer that she thought he was looking for.

My thoughts exactly.. The man set her (them) up for a failure himself.. It's unfair to call her "bish", being a child she is, set on a mission without propper thinking through of the goals and consequences.. I didn't like him from the start and that part was the last nail in his coffin for me..

@@ABillionWaysToDie he's at the very least is a grown man.. and a researcher to boot. He acts like he cares for those unfortunate creation magic experiments that deemed to be disposed, but practically sends a child out to the unknown without preparing her for anything bad that might happen (as Emet pointed). Which did happen, since at least one of those sent out decided no less than to self-terminate..

@@AweHitero Yes I agree on that with you but, Mankind at that time only knew a world without conflict and suffering, a paradise, so Its possible for hermes that Its never even crossed in his mind. Even Venat is suprised that Is it only mankind left in universe that see beauty in life.

I never seen a character like Fandaniel ever I think, he's so complex and has many facets of himself, the more I think of it the more I like him.

@@connorradcliffe1769 Not really, we can make a strong point that sundered souls are different people altogether. We have a clear example with Azem/WoL. The unsundered giving memories to Amon was one of their biggest mistakes.

One of the only confirmed things that sundered and unsundered souls have in common are strong memories imbued within them, like Hermes'.

@@ToMaSsS10 I don’t fully agree with them being totally separate people. Think of it like this. The WoL is the sundered Azem, the wandering convocation member who goes around solving others’ problems. The WoL themselves does exactly this. The sundered Fandaniel/Amon craves death because after talking to Xande he realised all that is done in life is rendered MEANINGLESS by death, while Hermes is searching for meaning his whole life. Echoes of the soul seem to colour them regardless of their connection to their unsundered memories.

Felt for how peaceful Elpis was, it was my favorite part of the game. It's also thought-provoking that while divinities beforehand remain in question, most of the 14-verse as we know it is man-made and a distant memory of how we as a society dabbed in playing god. To decide life itself for all creation but human life, so I can see where Hermes was coming from, but still doesn't change how he doomed mankind over his own insecurity. Now we getting to the endgame, and can't wait to see the rest of your vids!

it was probably more then his insecurity. He was the one even before Venat that had some problems with the whole groups goals and how they went about it, Plus with the flowers, he felt like an outcast even with his own kind. While he did do wrong, he at least wanted to make the test "fair", and that decision was also shared by Venat, who wanted Humanity to EARN their right for progress and the future

I love how there's practically no combat in the Elpis MSQ. It's almost exclusively carried by the characters and storytelling.

When Venat describes sensing a force or presence without herself, intimidating but intimate... I so wish WoL could have told her that for most of those close to him/her, maybe to WoL as well, for most of their lives that's who they've thought *she* was.

Yeah don't get too mad at Meition, at least Hermes's version, it was her sisters who reported back that basically corrupted her with all their hopelessness at the worlds they saw. Hermes never considered that the planets they found would be full of sorrow and desolation, and the Meitea as beings of Dynamis absorbed all that despair and became hopeless themselves. They felt that existence was pain and eliminating it was being "merciful"

Hermes was strong to be able to wrap 3 others like him and the WoL. Gotta give him props. Not surprising he created something to kill worlds. But as strong as he was....Emet and Hythlo were smarter and they were the Aces that we kept in our pocket

They have calmed down a lot. You still have heavy traffic at peak hours, where you will have 1-2 hour queues. Outside of primetime hours is basically back to normal.
