The Matsya and the baby scene was just masterful writing, moments before that scene we watch the baby’s mother die a pretty gruesome death, that scene up the stakes considerably you’d think “guess no non-scion npc is safe if the game is willing to go there”. that makes the following scene, the one with Matsya and baby much more tense to the point that I really believed the game was going to there and kill them. Just an amazing scene. The whole “final days in Thavnair” part of the game was so tense, I was sweating buckets.

This music is a huge part of why the story and the game itself is so well crafted. Without the right music being played at the right time, the story would feel a lot different. That's why we all hold Soken in such high regard! He always knows the perfect piece of music to play at the perfect time in a cutscene. The music that plays when Vrtra revealed himself to the people of Radz-at-Han is one of my favorite pieces of music from the new Expansion, and it hits me in the feels every time.

The scene with Matsya and Estinien swooping in with Vitra shredded me to bits; I never cheered "YES!!!" while bawling before in a video game till that moment wtffffff I finished MSQ last week but re-watching it with your playthrough has been amazing so far, it's like I'm reliving it all over again. Thanks for sharing this!

This whole part a roller coaster of thoughts. What is going on? whats gonna happen? are they really going that way? No way that happened. Did that kid really get squished? No not the baby, no not the precious elephant man. And then its ya boi Emet and the prettiest of boys Hythlo. And it just gets better.

i saw your clip in Lulu's highlights about the heroes of the storm thing - I recall that I was the one who was out of the loop back then lol. I can honestly say that you are correct, that playing MMOs is not your strong suit LOL. I do hope that you do try doing extreme trials and raids if you'd want to improve as a player (dps, and mechanic wise). If that's not your thing, then that's ok! I love watching you stream during the MSQ since, like Amano, you notice the little call backs or references. I'm really glad that you're having fun in Eorzea!

Thanks!! Yea I mainly play for the story. I’m a jrpg streamer mostly now so it’s been fun! Give me a boss in a turn based game and I’ll battle it for 3 hours and kick ass but give me mechanics where I gotta move around constantly and see me struggle. 😂

Hythlo is that kind of best friend that trolls you mercilessly but you still love him to death anyway. Emet-Sulk meanwhile is that friend who has an S-Rank trouble detector, grumbles how troublesome it is but still lets himself get roped into shenanigans anyway.

I’m convinced that bird you see in Elpis has a bigger part to play or at least something. You see it all throughout Shadowbringers and then it’s there again in Endwalker and Meteon can’t read it’s mind. Must be a reason for it. Rumours where in ShB it was Emet following you keeping an eye on you but it doesn’t make sense come Endwalker because Emet is in Elpis the same time as the bird, unless you know, time travel etc. I want to know!

Hey, Yuna, on an absolutely no connection with the video itself, I have a question. Have you played the game Treasure of the Rudras (Rudora no Hihou)? It is a Square game, rather obscure one, with structure and style very close to FF6 with one key element to it - the spells are called mantras, which you type yourself and, based on what you typed, the spells will have a specific effect. I have my suspicions that at some point we may see references to other SE games in FF14 and Rudora may be one of them.

Time tunnel is the credits sequence background from 4, nice. I can't help but compare Elpis to WoW's Zareth Mortis in terms of look. WoW doesn't win this.
