Now we know why during the escort he refused to believe the tempered could be saved. Finding out he killed his family in self defense when a way to save them existed... Remember all the way back in Coils Alisaie admitted she was only fighting for Eorzea because that's what her grandfather Louisoix would've wanted? The conclusion of that character arc. Now we know what they used the ceruleum for instead of keeping their people from freezing. Now you know why that music track traumatizes us.

My head cannon for the reason why everyone was not sent back to the Source is because Raha didn't die, he just turned to crystal. The poor guy is actually still alive and trapped forever in that crystal shell... Screaming, silently, for help that will never come. You're welcome. Now you all get to have the same nightmare that I have about getting trapped like that.
