I can see why people mistook this appearance of Suzaku as Trance Kuja, they definitely have some similarities! The only thing that could have completely convinced me was changing the phoenix (I think?) to something more indicative of Trance Kuja, like bursts of Ultima that could be AOE style attacks. Actually, that sounds brilliant! Maybe I should just come up with my own Kuja/Trance Kuja boss fight...

No one tanks in shield oath... It's too big a dps loss and a hindrance to the team, sentinel , rampart, shelltron, reprisal and HG are your tools, also for autos you get bulwark and anticipation, crits are mitigated by awareness, literally the only reason to be on Shield oath is pulling and emergencies

Oath wasn't the issue. First death was getting pulled into the middle (Mesmerizing Melody). Second was being in the wrong quadrant for Paying the Piper while being MT. Third was just being stupid and Provoking WAY too early.
