Oh man. The Ravus fight was the highlight of Episode Ignis. The emotion, the high tension and the OST made it fantastic. This also makes the fight against Ravus in Chapter 13 even more emotional.

1VAN GAME He's more a victim of circumstance. He lost his mother and blamed Regis for it, thus when the Empire asked for his allegiance he gave it due to his hatred for the Lucians. Then due to his blood line he believed he may be the one to save Eos, only for his cockiness and unworthiness to almost destroy him. And then after so long hating the idea of Luna's marriage, he finally supports her, only to lose her right in the presence of the prince he had every reason to despise. And even then; he tried to redeem himself and forsake the Empire; only to be slain mercilessly and for his last living thought to be that the Prince he ultimately gave everything for: killed him. Finally the battle against daemonified Ravus; he held back and cursed Ardyn. Despite it all; he still tried to fight back against Ardyn, the daemons and the starscourge whilst also protecting the one individual he previously loathed for the death of his sister, who's father abandoned his mother and who was ordained to save Eos rather than him... His name is fitting, a victim of circumstance. Yet ultimately he is arguably the greatest hero in the story.

Seeing Ignis fight so desperately to protect Noctis was a ride. He's not only fighting to protect his king but his brother. Ignis himself sees Noctis as his brother. And he will do anything to save and protect his sibling

Yeah, I think that's what's so sad about all this. He's fighting not just for the King's destiny, but for the boy he grew up with and has been looking out for since he was a child. They ARE effectively brothers, and you could even make the argument that Ignis serves as something of a parental figure in Noctis's life despite only being a couple years older --- protecting him from harm, giving him advice, ensuring he eats well, and even nagging him about things like mending his clothes. All this makes it especially tragic that he essentially has to walk Noctis to his death at the end. Obviously Gladio and Prompto have to do the same thing, but with Ignis it hits different because of how much he sacrifices and the fact that he finds out the truth of Noctis's fate before anyone else does. The part where he briefly suggests to Noctis that they give up near the end of the DLC is just heartbreaking. You can tell it's extremely difficult for him to come to terms with what Noctis has to do, and he largely suffers in silence.

I loved Episode Ignis and this boss fight with Ravus was so impactful and emotional. A part of me didn't want to fight Ravus, not only because he was a high commander but because of how much pain he was going through and after loosing his mother and now his sister. The way he blames Noctis at first but then later in the game knows he was wrong and tries to make things right. Ignis and Ravus becoming friends, getting to know more about their characters and then Ardyn appearing showing his true colours. I loved that there are different endings and outcomes to this DLC too. There's still more DLC to come for me but I feel this may be the best one. It's just the music and feels. Oh man I loved episode Ignis :D, it feels so good to enjoy a game when it first came out but then to play the game for the second time and see everything new that would have made it a better game when it was first released.

I genuinely wish they remake FFXV and they integrate the DLC episodes in the main game. It would help develop these characters and keep the story flowing correctly. I love this game but even I know the story shouldn't be devided into DLC if they are integral to the storyline.

But then ravus is pushed over the edge and blinded by rage and revenge and forced to fight, even tho they made a good team (and could have worked together)

This fight is truly the biggest emotional highlight of Final Fantasy XV in my opinion. The battle area darkened by clouds and rain, Ignis and Ravus's dialogue, and the soundtrack come together to create a moment that's equally epic and heartbreaking. I honestly think the DLCs did an excellent job giving us glimpses of the character development and emotional heights that the main game was capable of achieving but never quite hit the mark. The developers really made a mistake from a narrative standpoint by spreading the game out into so many different pieces.

1aundulxaldin Honestly Noct still got the best fight in the game mechanically speaking with Aranea since once you start fighting her in the air that's all Noctis while the Bros fight the MTs. Noct also had the Leviathan fight which is still one of the most epic moments in the entire game imo as well as his fight with Titan and Ifrit which granted he had the others to help with but Noct was doing most of the work in those fights anyway. Though I will say I would've liked some more human fights too like this one and Aranea's. Who knows maybe they'll actually patch in a battle for chapter 5 since they're no stranger to revising parts of the game like how they completely changed the chapter 12 train scene.

It would be awesome like in ff 6 with celes or in ff 4 with kain that betrayed you but then go with you on the group that would be awesome!! If they add the flying ship like other ff with biggs and wedge driving it and u could change between aranea ravus and cor with other group members that would be awesome and we could know more about these characters. Ff xv is a great game but it could be a brilliant game if they put more effort on the history and on secondary characters.

Well ravus was really sad and went to bury Luna.. then he feels noctis is responsible for her death because he asked her to help him get the astral support and save the planet but in reality the empire had her imprisoned and that was a worse fate. So ravus actually tries to join noctis after the burial and if you play the game you see what happens to ravus. I cant wait to play a ravus dlc where he realizes the truth and makes the distraction that enables noctis to enter the imperial keep

Well to be fair they were much weaker back then and that was before Gladio did the training trial with Gilgamesh. Also Gladio is slow while Ravus has high mobility so if anyone has a better chance it would be Ignis since he is faster than Gladio.

He's heartbroken and grieving. Sad people generally suck at fighting because their mind isn't clear meanwhile Ignis is still fiercely determined to keep Noctis safe. Also Noctis and his friends have gotten a lot stronger since the last time they met Ravus so it makes sense that Ignis is putting up a better fight. Gladio is too strong for Ravus now so it wouldn't be a fair or interesting fight anyway.

Are you implying Ignis is weak? He is one of Noctis's personal crownsgaurd, he has trained extensively (possibly as much as Ravus), you can see that in the anime. Ignis has skill.

See.. this game was very incomplete as a game. The expansions for a final fantasy game is just ridiculous. I bought it all but yeah. I stopped playing after episode gladio. I wrapped it 100% and then the expansions kept coming out. I already did all the secret dungeons and fought every boss. I don't want to play as all of the characters now. That's an in game thing that makes final fantasy so amazing. You get to control another character for a moment midway in the game and it's just exhilarating for some reason. Thanks for posting these vids but I doubt I'll ever get back into it again.
