Final Fight | Rolento Battle Theme (Arcade)

Rolento was one of the best designed boss encounters you could find in a beat ‘em up. He was very difficult and sometimes plain cheap, but he was still fun and this song really put you in focus. Ideal quarter muncher.

That Bay Area theme in SFA2 is hype though, especially hearing it with ear phones.

For me, Going Up is not someone’s theme song! Bay Área fits better with Rolento! Going Up represents a moment, an action scene, not a character! And of course, the arranged version made for Final Fight CD is the very best one!

I think the reason for omitting this stage and Rolento was due to it being to difficult to beat without getting killed off. No one would beat the game on home console.

More likely it was technical limitations. Having the screen scroll upwards with enemies dropping in would be a resource drain on the SNES slow CPU, and it would require its own unique code block. The rest of the levels are simple "left to right" deals, so it makes sense to cut this stage.

It simply wasn't ported because of the limitations that the SNES cartridge had at the time, something they fixed in Final Fight 2.
