With the year drawing to a close and no flying for nearly 3 weeks, I was getting withdrawal symptoms and, no matter what the weather looked like, just had to go flying... LOL
No. I won't take unnecessary risks but I do believe it is a good idea to go flying in minimum conditions in a known area from time to time.
The weather for the day was with a cloud base between 800 and 1000ft, and a decent wind from the southwest. That means it will be crosswind takeoff and landings with a circuit height below the normal but still above the legal minimums.
With no other known traffic in the area, it sounded like a good idea to go for a short flight and work and maintain my proficiency in minimal conditions.
I also had my intercom fixed and needed to test the settings in a flying environment. Recorded audio is not the best, but it is getting there.

Life has a habit of getting in the way, and sometimes, it feels as if you're just hanging on and being taken for a ride. You're totally out of control, and there's no way to get back on track.
The funny thing is, that you are not alone. Every single one of us has, at some point, been on the border of a mental health crisis. Some even went all the way...
My aim with my flying is to raise awareness of how "common" mental health problems really are.
I ask my passengers to share their stories and how they cope while introducing them to the joy of flying a light aircraft, in most cases for the first time.
Yes, some of these flights might be long and boring for some. But keep in mind, it is not about you. It is about the passengers prioritizing themselves and letting go of their stress and life struggles for a full hour.

DISCLAIMER: I am a "weekend warrior" National Private Pilot, I fly for fun and enjoy sharing my love for flying. I consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve... Having GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self-analysis videos helpful in my constant quest to improve and I am happy to share them. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive
