No other plane can look better than the Boeing 747. The 747 is a true masterpiece and does not deserve to be retired.

The 737 is not a generic looking plane, it too is a beautiful plane from the past which still carries the golden age. And the DC-10 isn't gone, FedEx still flies the DC-10 and MD-11

Andrew, meh, I'll give you that 737 is a workhorse, but definitely generic looking and not sexy at all like a tri or quad engine jet. The Boeing 737 & A320 look like any Honda/Toyota of the sky. As far as the DC-10 is concerned, I was coming from a passenger transport angle vs cargo.

You don't say. The A380 has been a complete failure, the A380plus has also been a failure, so much it hasn't had an order.

This plane(747) always fly to Hawaii everyday. I always see this beauty everyday. Great thing United started the 747 to Honolulu and ending it in Honolulu.

Pan Am was the first 747 to Honolulu, not United. United’s 747 service was delayed because of problems with production.

I’ve been in the cockpit of one of them when I was in my early heydays! That was on my family trip to LA when I was four! Such a shame nothing like this is ever happening again, especially when the lightweight carbon fibre bodied counterparts replaces the fuel guzzling machines previously thought to be equipped for long haul routes for years to come!
