this was the first race i watched. i knew nothing of racing aside from dale earnhardt and jeff gordon but i was tired of waiting for baseball and hockey to come back so i tuned in to talladega. i watched the rain delay coverage all afternoon that sunday and the race on monday. i’m still hooked after two and half years and saw my first race in person last year (dover, chase elliots first win of 2022 if i’m not mistaken) and i’m excited for 2023 to start!

Dale was real good friends with Ryans father Dave Blaney. So yeah he was around him a lot as a very Very young child.
