Linkin Park is an alternative rock band renowned for their hits “Numb,” “In the End,” “What I’ve Done,” “Castle of Glass,” “New Divide,” “Crawling,” and “Faint.” They worked with artists like Jay-Z, Metallica, Steve Aoki, and Paul McCartney - amassing billions of global streams and received the UN Global Leadership Award for their humanitarian work.
Lyrics:
Tearing me apart with the words you wouldn't say
And suddenly tomorrow's a moment washed away
'Cause I don't have a reason and you don't have the time
But we both keep on waiting for something we won't find
The light on the horizon was brighter yesterday
With shadows floating over, the scars began to fade
We said it was forever, but then it slipped away
Standing at the end of the final masquerade
The final masquerade
All I ever wanted, the secrets that you keep
All you ever wanted, the truth I couldn't speak
'Cause I can't see forgiveness and you can't see the crime
But we both keep on waiting, for what we left behind
The light on the horizon was brighter yesterday
With shadows floating over, the scars began to fade
We said it was forever, but then it slipped away
Standing at the end of the final masquerade
The final masquerade
The final masquerade
Standing at the end of the final masquerade
The light on the horizon was brighter yesterday
With shadows floating over, the scars began to fade
We said it was forever, but then it slipped away
Standing at the end of the final masquerade
Standing at the end of the final masquerade
Standing at the end of the final masquerade
The final masquerade

Chiko was here Everyone has right of their own opinion, but I realy dislike the turn they made. I think the best songs they made were there early ones before they went in this pop direction instead f their old sound. But then again apparently they make more money this time because their audience is bigger disregarding the fact that most people who loved their old sound have left them. I personaly almost never listen to linkin park anymore I try some of their new songs every year or so, but all it does is meake me long for their old songs that werent (imo) pop shit. but it seems to work for them meh.

Zhoekov i agree hybrid theory and meteora i could not fault 1 single song, their new albums im not a huge fan though i do love some of their new stuff, but what i love about LP is that i feel they have always stayed true to themselves us older fans may have kick started them but i feel they have always produced music that they love and dont go with what everyone wants as their sound always seems to be evolving and changing and i respect them for doing what they want and also they did the whole of hybrid theory last year at download festival which was epic so they definitely havent forgot their old fans, but i dont think their new music is complete shit maybe not to my taste all the time but you can hear the effort and emotion they put into alot of their songs.

im pretty sure I know what the song is about based on some of the theories about his "suicide". the line " I cant see forgiveness and you cant see the crime". and especially the line " all i ever wanted, the secrets that you keep/all you wanted, the truth I couldnt speak. knowing who he was trying to help, it makes sense to me. but that is a VERY scary reality and I hope to God its somehow not true. but man the video makes is obvious

Fighting depression for most of my life myself, in hindsight and with the knowledge what Chester went through, it's amazing how many Linking Park songs and lyrics seem like a foreshadowing. Oh how well do I know that masquerade you put on for your family, so they don't see your pain and don't have to suffer with you. The things you want to say, but can't. The things you would need to hear, but never do.

i obly have a thing to say. The illuminati and our alien rulers are to blame for his death. You can clearly see that the last linkink park albuns were increasingly talking about what they have planned for us, and nothing more perfect that the title of this music, as well as the clip, the truth is that they have a big masquerade ready for us and it wont take longer than 20 years in the future for the plan to be set to move, be aware and dont believe in everything that is said, specially about aliens.

The chorus (the light on the horizon was brighter yesterday) refers to the lost hope for the future (light as a common symbol for hope). the next line "with shadows floating over, the scars begin to fade" expresses that ince it is over anyways, what you did to each other before becomes unimportant. "the final masquerade" is a metaphor: at the end of a masquerade, you put down your masks and everyone reveals their true face. that happens on the song, too, the singer can see now the true self of the other person, everything that was hidden before.

I like so much this band because they report very well, in their songs, a lot of issues: politic (No more sorrow), kinds of relationships (with you, pushing me away, in the end), forgiven (leave out all the rest), reflexion (what I've done, burning in the skies), hope (iridescent, final masquerade), indecision (runaway), angry (Bleed it out, given up), honor (castle of glass). Sometimes, when I listened a song, I told myself: "Wait a minute! This song is to me! They (Linkin Park) are talking to me....they are discribing me! They understand my feelings and my situation!". It was enough. However, they made better with their style and way to sing! Just AMAZING! I apologize for my English speaking, because unfortunately I don't speak very well yet. However, I think that is good to understand. :)

You know the guys in white coats at 3:25 getting ready to leap off the ledge? I think that's a reference to the Apple/FoxConn factory workers suicides. Some of the poor Chinese workers that make your iPhones tried to commit suicide by jumping off ledges from the inside of the factory, because of the soul-crushing hours and next-to-nothing pay. But the corporations didn't respond by changing the hours or the salary, and actually trying to make life better for the workers. They just installed safety nets at the bottom of the building. I don't know if LP is referencing this or not, but I feel like they're more political than many of their fans realize, just look at Castle of Glass- deaths of soldiers Shadow of the Day- riots and protesting Wretches and Kings- the Berkeley student movements/Vietnam War/anti-imperialism It's good to be aware of details like these sometimes- you don't know if a $0.01 cent/hr wage slave killed him/herself in the process of cobbling together the $300.00 iPhone you are holding

Tearing me apart with Words you wouldn't say And Suddenly tomorrow's A moment washed away 'Cause I don't have a reason And you don't have the time But we both keep on waiting For something we won't find The light on the horizon Was brighter yesterday With shadows floating over The scars began to fade We said it was forever But then it slipped away Standing at the end of The final masquerade The final masquerade All I ever wanted The secrets that you keep All you ever wanted The truth I couldn't speak 'Cause I can't see forgiveness And you can't see the crime If we both keep on waiting For what we left behind The light on the horizon Was brighter yesterday With shadows floating over The scars began to fade We said it was forever But then it slipped away Standing at the end of The final masquerade The final masquerade The final masquerade Standing at the end of The final masquerade The light on the horizon Was brighter yesterday With shadows floating over The scars begin to fade We said it was forever But then it slipped away Standing at the end of The final masquerade Standing at the end of The final masquerade Standing at the end of The final masquerade The final masquerade

It's crazy how you can miss someone you've never even met so much. I wish I could have gotten the opportunity to meet you. To thank you for your beautiful music. It’s helped me more than you could imagine. Rest easy Chester.

Why don't you contact the other band members of LP and thank them? Chester wasn't the only one making the music and lyrics.

I can't actually describe the way this song makes me feel, something like a mix nostalgia, sadness and uncertainty about uncertainty about the future, but I love it so much...

He foresaw the dark days ahead for all of us, but especially innocent children Loss of faith. I think he saw many evils and was afraid we would not overcome them in these last days on earth. The pain he was carrying on his shoulders must have been immense A tormented soul. A kind soul. A loving soul He had Light in him.

This is so intense, it chokes the soul out of me. I love this feeling! Finally some band which can actually make me feel tense, which is not easily done (just) using heavy instruments, screaming, and other typical will-always-work ways. This stuff speaks experience. I'm mind-blown

Depression in its worst way is an illness, worse than cancer, sucking in the oxygen for your soul. I am happy for those superficials and easy to condemn ppl that do not understand it. R.i.p. Chester. You remain a great artist having given it your utmost and everything you could give. Thank you.
