Chester is alive everytime I find myself in a situation he foresaw and/or described when I was a kid and I started listening to LP, he was a model, and still is to this day. Found our from my father that one of my great grandfather's cousins who he enlisted with in ww2 died in that war. I feel this small speck of sadness. Ofc i never knew him but its a horrible way to go and this song definitely reminds me of him. I knew my great grandfather and he reacued a platoon from a sinking ship on fire but couldn't save our cousin. I just think that i should have been told this sooner.

My dad and brother were both forward deployed when this released, so I felt it in my soul. The thing I can’t wrap my head around about the video is where was the mom with those two guys (presumably members of the dad’s unit?) that she left the kid home by himself, to be given such heartbreaking news? And if they were members of the unit, were they not deployed together? You think about these things in military families. Regardless, it’s December 2023 and we still miss you, Chester.

As always, LP's albums are never appreciated at the time of their release but only years later. People seem incapable of udnerstanding musical evolution, they expect every album to be identical to the last one and reject anything new as 'selling out'. What makes LP my favourite band of all time is their ability and desire to evolve, mature and explore new emotions and sounds.

PLEASE take this with a pinch of salt as I know what its like to loose someone you admire like this but to all of you. As much as I haven't listened to him as much as I feel as I should have, he died doing what just simply listening to him now through hearing him through parts of my generation what he sounds like he was trying to prevent. He was singing about the things he was in some cases going through but also trying to prevent it to those he felt who needed it the most. to those who feel like giving up now don't. There's a whole lot more to live for and do It for him.

I was clearing when 9-11 came crashing in. School had to wait 12 more months; thankfully my Company (mechanic -MP support) held alert status boat loaded/never left. Its not realistic to expect someone in politics to have to serve, but cant we? I cant play any of the MOH or war fighters sims (no skill) but they are too real. My great grand fought in ww1(resupply rear guard), grand da fought in ww2(driver under patton), and Dad fought in VN(flight tech Ist Cav). I stood ground in Kuwait(mech Engineer), my best friend stood in afganistan (hvy wheel mech). we all came back but changed. Thank you for your time
