Filipinos are actually discriminated against each other, specially thru regional languages. I speak mainly tagalog and English, there was one time I had a job interview in my mother's province, the HR was quite rude and thought I don't understand the language there, they kept telling things(bad things) about me like my school is not known, or I'm not suitable for that company. They didn't know I understand what they're saying I just don't speak the language. That experience for me is pretty frightening already, imagine other people who go to other countries, just how jarring it is for them. I'm planning to go abroad in Japan, and discrimination is one of the things I'm really scared of

I agree with you. I feel from watching a number of korean variety shows that South Korea is quite xenophobic, to the point where they don't realize the harm they are causing because of it. It doesn't make sense to me considering that they are one of the most rapidly technologically advanced countries in the world. I hope a Korean reading this can correct me on any misunderstanding.

@@darkvalkyria394 SNSD Taeyeon said the same thing about Alicia Keys "She's pretty...for a black girl" and I could never look at her the same way again

I was unnerved when I looked at the English writing of it too But when she spoke about it (I understand korean), seems like the other person was just genuinely commenting on the fact that she looks like a foreigner but she can speak korean so well. They said her skin color was beautiful., Many Koreans don’t see foreigners who can speak korean fluently unless it’s on tv, so it honestly must be shocking to see a little girl speaking korean so fluently. And yes it is sad that although her nationality is korean, she will probably get a lot of surprised reactions that she can speak korean so good because of her appearance., but that’s honestly the reality of being a minority. I still get asked how I can speak English without a korean accent, in my 16th year of living in the US and that’s because I look Asian. And the US is far more diverse AND has had Asian Americans living here for a looong time now. Something that’s different from Korea is that in the US, many of those with Asian faces probably have been in the US for years or most likely born here. But in Korea the largest minority is Chinese, I heard. So most of the foreigners that Koreans come across, will probably be visitors and won’t speak korean well
@solcester3 жыл бұрын
Yeah and to me, although it was wonderful they were complimented on their language, the question was to write the nicest thing someone said to you in Korea, the fact they all wrote about language shows how much they value people accepting them so in some way shows how much of an issue it is, I was expecting them to write things like you’re great at this and that or you’re a wonderful kid etc

@세븐틴캐럿들2 жыл бұрын
it pains me to see how mature they are… they are so unique in their own ways! Gabriel is at the age where he understands other people’s intentions when they criticize him for this race. He prioritises the feelings of his family members and chose to bottle up all his emotions. It was nice to see him release all these and be vulnerable towards his peers. I’m glad that he was given this opportunity to meet these group of people whom he feels safe with. Daniel is such a sweet and sensible boy who puts others before himself and take the initiative to help others in need. The way he empathised with Gabriel and wanted to stand up for him when he shared that a Korean lady did not allow him to sit on the bus was so heart warming. It’s evident that Daniel is an extremely loyal friend and i wish nothing but the best for him. Asia is a pretty girl with big dreams and often keeps the kids entertained with her tiktok dance moves. She is an extremely confident speaker and is able to adapt quickly with the rest of the kids despite arriving the latest. She is definitely talented enough to pursue her dreams of being an actress. That audition isn’t an end of her dreams, I hope that she can learn to be strong, be brave and go for it. Ewha is a really talented girl who is often aware of her surroundings as well as the feelings of the people around her which makes her so lovable. I love how she is always looking out for Fate and often try to make her feel included. The way Ewha agreed to do the catwalk with Fate to calm her down as well as hug and comfort her when she cried really warms my heart. Fate may be introverted at first but she puts in the effort to interact with her peers and is appreciative of the people around her. Seeing how appreciative she was towards Ewha made me realise how precious their friendship is. I hope that in the future, no matter what other people say about her, she will face them bravely and confidently and not let those criticism get to her. Angel is such a mood maker and despite being the youngest among all of them, she’s not fearful of being herself and is confident of herself which is something everyone should learn from. Her mindset is so mature for her age and I love how she never fails to make the people around her happy. I hope that she will keep up with this bubbly personality as she grow older and shine light into people’s live wherever she go.

Imagine if he hadn't been fluent in Korean, that woman would have proudly walked away thinking she was able to stop a "foreigner" from stealing chips. The thought of how many prejudices and evil stereotypes that exist purely from one's skin color truly disgusts me in this day and age. These kids are far more mature and responsible than they need to be and I just hope with programs like these, highly homogenized countries such as SK will learn to accept their younger generations of biracial and immigrant families.

Yall,I think I ain't gon' be able to get over Ewha like how kind nd sweet this little girl is. She is genuinely caring about her friends and yess,she likes caring nd approaching the introverts as being an extrovert herself and making things easier for the other, as in Fate. I am pretty sure Gabriel is into Ewha cuz I think he found her so genuine nd love is there where there's purity. GAWWD,I can go on & on like they all r so adorable but I can't get enough of Ewha😩🥺❤️✨ Really really want them to have longer and more episodes 💌✨

@Kpop3X OG not exactly. It’s high on the list at 12th place. And you getting offended doesn’t change that fact

@Kpop3X OG worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-racist-countries. Calm your tits... I never said anything about your values. But don’t hide behind the fact that you have “Eastern values” as if that changes the fact that people can be racist 😂😂. You act like that’s why people are racist. Silly. Also being homogenous is kind of why people are closed off to other races it’s not just Asian though.

@Kpop3X OG No it’s not silly

@Kpop3X OG Why is it hard to accept the truth 😂😂😂 No one is talking about your culture or whatever. No one is saying Koreans are bad people. I know my country isn’t perfect but I don’t try to pretend it is like you are. I never once called you racist, so you must have some insecurities about it. No one is saying every Korean is racist. I’m starting to think you know but just want to hide behind being offended. I don’t think racism is an inherent value. And you said “Korea is one of the least racist Asian countries.” I showed proof that was incorrect. This isn’t western data either. If you want to hide from this truth things will never get better. You’ve literally went through so many comments on this video while trying to call every country racist as some attempt to make Korea look better. It’s like your being ignorant and for what? Want to keep up this front of perfection? You are a problem dude. Maybe get out of pop culture and listen more to what actual foreign people are saying and their experiences.

I cried... I remembered what Miss Universe 2018 said in one of her practice q' and a's. "That Diversity is the future that we need to empathize with.." Her point is we cannot stop diversity in between society.. no matter where we live in.. In this generation.. we need something like this to let the viewers reflect of what it's like seeing, and feeling what our kids experience everyday.. What struggles we need to empathize with, having insecurities in society because we look a certain way..or do a certain way without breaking any law or having limitations. They are our future and we don't need to be over protective.. We just need to pass through the society who are willing to learn how to empathize.. So I applaud this program and staff who worked so hard for this.. Thank you so much for stepping up for us..
