Final Round Interview Prep - Real Estate Private Equity // If you’re new to the real estate industry and haven’t gone through the interview process before, you might be surprised how long this process can end up being when you finally get into it.
A long, drawn-out process including an application, phone screenings, a phone interview with a hiring manager, in-person interviews, an Excel-based technical assessment, and a final round interview with the firm’s executive leadership team isn’t uncommon in the CRE hiring process, and all of these steps together can often end up spanning several months from the time you submit your application to the time you receive an offer.
And although this entire process isn’t easy, one of the biggest wildcards that can be thrown your way is the last step of this, the final round interview with the firm’s senior leadership team, where the questions you’ll need to tackle might look a little bit different than the first few interviews you had with other members of the firm.

One that caused me to stumble in a technical interview recently was the interviewer wanted me to qualitatively review what I liked and disliked about the sample property they had me analyze. I had covered some of it in my report I prepared for the interviewer, but he was a very experienced acquisition guy so we went deep on demographics, management company, touchy feely stuff about the quality of the area, etc.

Great video. Always enjoying watching your stuff, has helped me quite a lot. So I do well pretty interviews, but it seems no one is hiring interns right now. Oh well, at least I have one internship. Hopefully I can get one more for the summer.
